Rattled outdoor furniture, frightened cats. We heard reports from several readers about the mysterious booms and flashes of light early this morning over Puget Sound:
"I was watching late night TV when at exactly 2:42 p.m. I saw the sky light up like a nuclear bomb had exploded. The entire sky and my whole yard glowed a luminous red color. I went outside to investigate and could hear a loud rumbling noise."

"At 2:30 a.m. I was looking toward the western sky when I noticed a very bright object. It was about the size of a dime from my viewpoint. About 10 to 15 minutes later I saw what I believed to be a meteor shower. This started as very white and turned to orange light which lasted about 5 to10 seconds. This was followed by a concussion and loud boom by about 10 mins." Tom Wallace, MarysvilleBest report in the bunch though I exepct this feloows time estimations may be off.

I was really hoping this stuff would never start up - I saw some Bradfield/Q4 models that had us (earth) running thru some dicey areas within the next couple months.
In Southwestern Europe it has been seen by thousands twice in the last 2 days.
The spokesman of the portuguese Air Force, Carlos Barbosa, said today to the newspaper "Publico" :
"Between 23h00 and 23h30 we detected some targets atdifferent speeds, altitudes and positions - itlasted two or three minutes" , adding that one of the movements presented an ascending trajectory from seven thousand to 30 thousand feet, and another was moving at 40 thousand feet.

Wow. Between this, the Jersey fireball, and the latest internet hoax regarding inbound comets, I haven't given a thought to a terrorist attack all day.
Great fun....great mental exercise..

The most detailed report is not necessarily the best.

I saw the sky light up like a nuclear bomb had exploded. If this person's retinas didn't get burnt to a crisp they did not see a light as bright as a nuclear weapon.
To: Truth666
I heard it too! Turned out to be a thunderstorm. I roled over. (end story)

I happen to have a bottle in my cupboard. They send down to us to thank my husband for fixing their car while we were there a few years ago.

The link doesn't work.

Lotsa talk on some "fringe" sites about coming catastrophes in the next few weeks. Results of comets hitting Earth.
