"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia - Tens of American, European and other hostages were released Sunday and a gunman believed to be the lead Islamic militant holding them was arrested, a Saudi security official said, adding that two other gunmen were "in the process of being arrested."
We are the "Stotters" who make ourselves aware of the enemy who wishes to do us harm
DAVEY CROCKETT offered the date in post #148. I noticed a reference on Jill's site to June 23rd as well.
There are many others who think June 8th is a candidate. It marks the transit of Venus, death of Mohammed in 632, start of the G8 conference, birthday of Barbara Bush, the founding of Islam in 570 and it is 1000 days after 9-11-2001.
Review - Mining: Inco Under Threat?
May 30, 2004 11:47 PM,
Laksamana.Net - Canadian nickel giant Inco Ltd says its 61% owned subsidiary PT International Nickel Indonesia is operating normally despite the withdrawal of some expatriate staff from its operations in Sulawesi following warnings of terror attacks.
The Canadian and Australian governments recently issued travel advisories on potential terror threats in South Sulawesi province, where PT Inco operates mines and smelters.
Several Canadian and four Australian workers at Incos Soroako mine reportedly left the area following extremist death threats made in an SMS message to the mine's Canadian manager.
Reports said the threats were a combination of warnings by locals and extremists, who had become involved in a prolonged dispute with Inco over alleged evictions and unresolved land rights and compensation cases.
Authorities responded to the threats by deploying a joint taskforce of 230 soldiers and Mobile Brigade (Brimob) paramilitary police to the area to protect Incos operations and employees. Inco reportedly has a 3,000-strong workforce in Sulawesi, including 80 expatriates

I disagree with the article in the sense that al qaeda is not winning it either. IMHO, for the terrorits to win it, they would have to be effectively vanquishing all the military forces and law enforcement techniques fighting against it all over the globe. This war will be as GWB says -- a very long war. And GWB knows that there is no winner at this moment, even if the Asian analysts don't. The chess game just barely started. GWB always says we are making progress; all al qaeda can say is that in some cases they are able to hold their own. The fact that they have been attacking us for years and we have only just begun to fight back puts it in a better perspective.
I guess the Asian analysts and press wants the war won yesterday (like our liberal press).
The critical government and military networks should be completely inaccessible from the internet. If not, then stupidity is its own reward.
Indie can't, but the moderators sure can. I lost a lot of respect for Indie when he called fellow TM regulars 12-year-olds, but then goes off pouting and asks for his account to be suspended...just like a little kid. Indie knows that a lot of people here care for him, but what he did was a slap in our faces. Enough of this crap!
The Commission on British Muslims and Islamophobia (CBMI), which is chaired by a key government adviser to the Stephen Lawrence inquiry, warns that more and more Muslims feel excluded from society and simmering tensions, especially in northern English towns, are in danger of boiling over.

I could handle that, couldn't you? Instant over! :)
One thing I am seeing, everyone of the antiterrorism folks are saying the same basic thing, duck and cover! Head for the hills! Hunker down, for here it comes. Shessh.
NSA's saying this about chatter for the first time since the summer of 2001. Saying the chatter now, reminds them of then.
Yes, what do you think about that? Wouldn't it be on it's own network?
My Mother taught me when a Man wants to leave, allow him to do so with as much grace and expediency as possible.
Instant over sounds good to me. If only...
I want to make sure I understand what you mean: Is it the fact that the NSA itself is talking about chatter levels this time that is unique? The FBI, Homeland Security and other agencies and talking heads have said it a few times since 911. They last said it around Ramadan/Hanukka/Christmas when they compared it then to pre-011. I really think we headed off some attack around Novemeber - January last year.
But still, if the NSA is a new voice chiming in about rising chatter levels now and they have not done this before, then that gives us much to chew on.
The way I'm reading things is that it is NEW that the NSA is chiming in about chatter. I've read in different articles that this is first time for the NSA to make statements.
:) I will add I don't think this was the context in which my Mother was speaking, but it seemed to apply. :)
Duly noted. :)
Well, at least in public. After all, "No Such Agency" is possibly the most secret of all the alphabet soup groups in the intel community. I'm sure they have constant input to the individuals that matter, but for a comment from them to leak to the public or the media is very unusual. Unusual and disturbing.
What's not to like???
"...the first time for the NSA to make statements"
Thanks, Letitring. I think this is significant, along with your post re: Indonesia locale threats. Let's all keep alert for more "signs" so that we can take whatever steps necessary. Even a few hours notice could make a difference.
