Oklahoma City bomber Terry Nichols met with World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef in the Philippines before he and Timothy McVeigh carried out their plot, investigative reporter Jayna Davis said Wednesday.
"Terry Nichols and Ramzi Yousef met personally in the Philippines on the island of Mindanao in the early 1990s to discuss, of all things, bombmaking," Davis told ABC Radio Network host John Batchelor.
On Wednesday, an Oklahoma jury returned a 161 count murder verdict against Nichols. He is expected to face the death penalty. But the bizarre Yousef-Nichols tie-in did not come up in the trial.
Davis said she didn't think Nichols would ever discuss his relationship with Yousef, who devised a plot known as Operation Bojinka, a kamikaze airliner hijacking plan that became the blueprint for the 9/11 attacks.
"Sources close to the defense have told me, and this comes from recorded conversations with his wife, Lana Padilla, that Terry Nichols is going to remain clammed up for the rest of his natural days on earth," Davis told Batchelor.
"He wants to protect his son Joshua from any retaliation," she added. Filipino police informant, Edwin Angeles, who first detailed meetings between Yousef and Nichols, was assassinated in 1998.
Yousef's partner in the Bojinka plot, Abdul Hakim Murad, was apprehended by Filipino police in 1994 and taken to New York to stand trial. On the morning of the OKC bombing, Murad summoned his jailers to tell them he and Yousef were connected to the crime. Later that day Murad gave the FBI a written confession.
Just months before his own June 2001 execution for the crime, Timothy McVeigh referred to both Yousef and Osama bin Laden in a letter to Fox News Channel's Rita Cosby.
"Collateral Damage? As an American news junkie; a military man; and a Gulf War veteran, where do they think I learned that? (It sure as hell wasn't Osama Bin Laden!)," he wrote in April 2001.
In the next sentence, McVeigh mentioned Yousef.
"For all else, I would refer you to my enclosed paper 'Hypocrisy,' and to Ramzi Yousef's statement to the court just prior to his sentencing. I filter all labels and insults thusly."
In the Jan. 8, 1998, court statement to which McVeigh referred, Yousef proclaimed, "Yes, I am a terrorist and proud of it as long as it is against the U.S. government," before being sentenced to 240 years in jail.
Guess again .... I suspect that the average gun owner feels that the 2nd amendment is just fine in it's original form.
and don't your friends over at DU miss you ... maybe you should go back
Looks like he's having fun.
yes, the "VRWC" was the overall target.
I am reading through the thread. Someone may have already posted the info.
Lana Padilla is a Las Vegas real estate agent. She is no relation to the "dirty bomber" Padilla. Nichols married Lana Walsh in 1981. They had a child, Josh, in 1982.
After their divorce Lana married a man named Leonard Padilla (no apparent relation to Jose Padilla). As I recall they are no longer married.
This site has quite a bit of information, most of it squares with what I already knew such as the info on Mrs. Padilla. I believe she has written a book about her life with Nichols and if I recall correctly she too believes that others were involved. I picked the site as a source.

Thanks for the info. I normally say that there "is no such thing as a coincidence," but this may be an exception to my rule.
Of course not. IF, repeat IF, I was going to kill someone over something like Waco, I would not be so indiscriminate. "Reach out and touch someone" would be so much more effective than "KaBoom", unless one has access to something like a laser guided bomb or artillery round, and even then one would need to be very desecrating about where to put it.
The gun-grabbers will stop at nothing to demonize gun owners.
Just shows their total lack of scruples and class.
well, the old muslim philosophy applies here..."the enemy of my enemy is my friend". They allied with McVeigh and Nichols because those two hated the American government just as the Islamofacists.
What "influences" would those be? Yes, the Constitution can be changed, the provisions for doing so were inserted by the authors becasue they knew that things change. However those procedures are the only way to change the meaning of the Constitution, not through "influences" of appointed judges and Justices.
Since the second amendment hasn't been amended it means today what it meant when first passed. The only possible exception to that would be it's applicability to the states via the privledgs and immunities and due process clauses of the 14th amendment. But that depends on whether you agree with the pre-14th Justices who ruled that it only applied to Congress, even though it doesn't say that, as the first amendment does.
Is there such a thing?
It is so obvious that this is another "enemy of my enemy is my friend" situation.
I have posted this story on another website, & a staunch liberal came up with the comment below. I know how to answer some of it, but I don't want to give a weak answer to the part that I'm not informed on, particularly because others read the website. If anyone can help me give a good answer to ANY of it, please help. :)
His response in quotes:
"Well I read most of the website you recommended and noticed a few problems with Ms. Davis' storytelling. First of all when she talks about Nichols travelling to the Phillipines, she never seemed to bother to mention that his wife was a mail order bride from the Phillipines. The implication from her story is that Nichols must have been there to meet with terrorists to learn about bombmaking, why else you he be there? How did Ms. Davis not find this to be pertinent enough to even mention in the article.
Also there is a major problem with her entire argument. Where are the earmarks of Iraqi or Arabic connections. The bomb itself was remarkably easy to make and outlined in the Turner Diaries, a book that I have read myself. Anyone who does a small amount of research into bombmaking could accomplish it. You certainly would not need "explosive experts" to teach or train you. Also the description of John Doe #2 was overwhelmingly described as white. Interestingly she provides no picture of either the suspected Iraqi connection or John Doe # 2 on her website even though they look "arguably identical". Having said that she may in her book. Here is the kicker though. John Doe #2 looked almost identical to Nichols' 12 year old son. This was something that everyone noticed from the start and the media even pursued it.
Her "evidence" seems to be mostly that McVeigh was seen in a bar with some Middle Easterners. How these witnesses could know exactly who these men were is never explained. Also that some Iraqis were seen at one of the same hotels as McVeigh and were seen moving things around a white truck (McVeigh drove a Ryder truck which are not reasonably described as a white trucks). That really is not much to go on. Also the truck was loaded up with all the materials when him and Nichols were at Geary Lake, not in a hotel parking lot. Would seem to be a pretty stupid place to do something like that.
As for her "connection" to the bombing with Alhussaini, there is none. First of all how did she get testimony from his shrink when those are doctor-patient confidential. Also how do any of his remarks connect him to any bombings anywhere. If he was a terrorist why would he want to quit his job at Logan Airport when it would have obvious strategical advantages. Also what evidence is there of Alhussaini being anti-American? A single person claiming that he was happy about 9/11 doesn't mean anything. Also her brief mentioning that Alhussaini work time card which gave him a full alibi was "labeled a fabrication" is suspicious. Why doesn't she mention who labeled them a fabrication? Was it a court of law? Was it an independent expert? Or was it simply her that labeled it a fabrication? Also how come she can't seem to find someone who said that he wasn't actually at work on that day? The only thing that seems clear to me is that Alhussaini is a victim of racial prejudice. I hope he wins his lawsuit.
In the end there is no evidence of any connection. The bombing had every mark of the White Supremacist and American anti-Government movement. The date April 19th, the bomb itself, the connections of McVeigh (former Klansman and member of the National Alliance), Nichols (Militias and White Supremacist orgs) and Fortier (Militias). If you have ever read the Turner Diaries you will notice that the details of the bombing are almost identical to one which the "hero" of the book takes part. I stand by my comment that the accusations are pathetic and offensive."
When you wrestle with a pig, you both get covered in pigsh!t and the pig likes it!
Hi ladyinred,
Do you happen to have a source where Clinton admitted that the OKC saved his presidency? I would not put it past him - he has done far worse. However, I post on a posting board of a talk show host, & want to present as much credible evidence that I can to get the host interested in this story.
I know exactly what you mean about the left. There are some obnoxious troll types that I totally ignore.
However, this is an important story & other posters read the threads, including a 16 year old. I guess I'll just address the points that I know.

I have to disagree with you my friend. Please, tell me what group of law abiding citizens, who support the second amendment murder innocent women and children? I just would like the hard evidence only? I would have to conclude from your post that you are with the anti/gun/2nd admendment crowd or a pacifist. I do respect your right to an opinion, but your post is, ( totally far out, Dude!) Notice**** When guns are outlawed, then only the outlaws will have guns." Those who beat their guns into plow shears, will play for those who don't. Oh by the way I am a NRA lifetime member( Probably considered a terrorist by your crowd.) If scary kerry F---ks Up and were to steal this election you will see his Gestapo in action.(The Klintoon Years.) Damn, I going to piss off a liberal, I will purchase another gun today.
