The American College of Pediatricians has recently come out with a paper discouraging the rearing of children in homosexual households.
The report, "Homosexual Parenting: Is It Time For Change?" cites studies showing that children who are reared in traditional two-parent homes are "more likely to thrive emotionally, mentally, and physically in a home with two heterosexual parents versus a home with a single parent."
The report notes that "...current studies that appear to indicate neutral to favorable results from homosexual parenting have critical flaws such as non-longitudinal design, lack of proper controls, and failure to account for confounding variables."
However, some studies do show that "Children reared in homosexual households are more likely to experience sexual confusion, practice homosexual behavior, and engage in sexual experimentation. Adolescents and young adults who adopt the homosexual lifestyle, like their adult counterparts, are at increased risk of mental health problems, including major depression, anxiety disorder, conduct disorder, substance dependence, and especially suicidal ideation and suicide attempts."

"The research literature on childrearing by homosexual parents is limited. The environment in which children are reared is absolutely critical to their development. Given the current body of research, the American College of Pediatricians believes it is inappropriate, potentially hazardous to children, and dangerously irresponsible to change the age-old prohibition on homosexual parenting, whether by adoption, foster care, or by reproductive manipulation. This position is rooted in the best available science."
"Are children raised by gay parents worse off than other children? As same sex couples line up for marriage licenses in Massachusetts, the question achieves greater urgency.
Two researchers answered when they reviewed the available scholarly literature in the American Sociological Review three years ago. What makes their essay intriguing is that both professors Judith Stacey and Timothy J. Biblarz are emphatically in favor of gay marriage and child-rearing. Being honest scholars, though, they could not accept the tendentious spin that others in their field have put on the available research. They deny that the studies show "no difference" between children raised in gay and lesbian homes and those raised in heterosexual homes...
Biblarz and Stacey examined 21 studies of "lesbigay" couples' children compared with heterosexual parents' children. While all of the researchers had claimed to find "no difference" in outcomes between the two groups, Biblarz and Stacey disagree. There are statistically significant differences in gender identity, sexual experimentation and promiscuity...

Those poor guys are gonna need a very big e-mail box....
Right there witht he 11th cirucuit opinion upholding a law prohibiting homosexuals from adopting children.
Come on other states put prohibitions on homosexuals adopting children in your states too!
It doesn't take a brain surgeon--or a pediatrician--to figure that out: it's basic common sense. Unfortunately, basic common sense is something that is sorely lacking in today's society.
Isn't that the agenda - raise the kids to be homo's/create more homo's? This whole gay adoption thing sickens me and makes me ashamed to be an American. Homosexuality is a disease.
Which is why we need to remind the public that homosexuals are only about sexual behavior. Nothing more.
A country music DJ got burned for reading a story that homosexuals can leave the homosexual lifestyle. Never before have so many effete called lashed out at a country music station.
It would help to pass the Federal Marriage Amendment and keep homosexuals out of the insitution of marriage and mother and fatherhood.
"increased risk of mental health problems, including major depression, anxiety disorder, conduct disorder, substance dependence, and especially suicidal ideation and suicide attempts."
Not surprising. Serious question here. Is there any correlation between homosexuality and hyper behavior / tendencies? Every gay person I have ever encountered through out my life versus hetero's have all displayed various stages of hyper behavior, mania, ocd like behavior, addiction potential which down the road panned out. There must be a link with being gay and hyper-neurosis, right? It can't be a coincidence.
What type of rational responce should they expect from the "tolerant diversity" community? Insults, slander, distortion and character assasination. The P.C. types have to rely on fear, conformity and lies, they do not have violence at their disposal, not yet.
Do you mean like children who misbehave in order to get attention?
As in, homosexuality is public sexual acting up for attention? A fetish look at me?
The American College of Pediatricians has recently come out with a paper discouraging the rearing of children in homosexual households.
A ray of hope.
How many years before the American College of Pediatricians falls to political correctness?
I say...10
Homosexuality should never have been removed from the DSM4...IMO.
One other observation I discovered with gay aquaintances is most were molested in their youth. I find that children who were molested by an adult generally turn out very promiscious and/or deviant or gay if they were repeatedly molested by same gender abuser (see gay priests or camp/school teachers. Child molesters gravitate towards occupations which will give them easy access to children like animal abusers go into animal related fields.
I'm confident the NYT's will feature this story above the fold on their front page tomorrow./sarcasm
