Yes those bombings were roundly condemned by the vast majority of Americans at the time. We were mostly all disgusted by it, and it did stop because of American outrage.

By the way, Muhammad had black slaves himself. He called his favorite one "Ship" because he was able to carry so much cargo across the deserts.

The muslims at my job gleefully fantasize about suitcase nukes.

This is the reason why I unashamedly state that I am for prohibiting the immigration of Muslims to this MY country.

They are not here because they love the idea of America.

They are here to take over.

I'm with you. I'm not exaggerating when I say the "nuke" talk is the mild stuff.

A Christian nation, rounding up Jews to beat them up, seize their property, and ultimately killing them in the biggest mass-murder ever - because of their religion. (Nazi Germany).

You must be a Johnny Cochran lawyer type to reach that far to prove a point, blaming the teachings of Christ for the work of the madman Hitler.

Also he did kill them because of their religion but because of their race. His hatred with the Jews stemmed from his childhood . However it was the nation founded on Christian principles that put an in to him and his rein of hate.

Also when you start studying the teachings of Christianity you need to start in the New Testament which is where the Church and Christians came into existence and it is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. See what He says you do in order to be one His, and not what the Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Mormons or any other church or person says.

Then see what Mohamed says and if you can't see the difference it's because you choose not to. The Old Testament was written to nation of Israel and it and the Church created by Jesus Christ are not one and the same.

The KKK have not always been considered loonies by religious leaders. Until about 30 years ago, they ran rampant among Christian leadership in the South. I agree with everyone's point that today Islam by far poses the gravest risk to those of us who are for freedom (and I'm particularly concerned about its war on Africa -- see my comments in today's Amnesty International thread). However, let's not act like Christians have done no or little bad stuff. As for folks who are concerned about Muslim immigration to USA, I get your point. However, you're missing a much larger point. A plural majority of U.S. Muslims (40%) aren't even immigrants but black Americans! While only 2% of blacks are Muslims, it's the community's fastest growing religion. Saudi Arabia is funding and importing Wahhabist recruitment (especially targeting blacks) in our jails as we speak. Black Christian churches have failed in their mission, and must ratchet it up or else our rich religious tradition and freedom could soon get trampled over by jihadists.

My mistake - and my apologies - you were right.

The Levitique (sorry for the French name but I'm not an expert on biblical translation !) do not say the man who's slept with a woman during the time she's impure will be put to death. Such a man will be "expelled" (once again, the translation may not be very accurate here)from the Lord's people, as would be the man who sees an "impure" woman naked.

Yes, you were right - and so please accept my apologies.

In fact the Leviticus says that a man sleeping with a woman or seeing her naked when she's impure will be expelled from the Lord's people. Burning was indeed reserved for the incest and zoophily adepts.

Again, I didn't, don't or won't ever suggest that this is or was the central message of Christianity, my whole point was that people could take passages from any holy book to further their own goals and justify violence.

But don't say that these extremist positions represent the belief system of 1 billion people.

You need to read the Qu'ran and you need to attend a Mosque. You are right in a sense. Our enemy is not Muslims in General, it is ISLAM in particular. The whole religion is evil. It treats women worse than dogs and treats dogs worse than it treats women. ISLAM exists to destroy Jews and to subjugate all other religions under Sharia law.

You talk of the History of Islam. Well Islam has a relatively peaceful history where it has, by the power of the sword, become the exclusive religion of a particular country, but woe to the person in that country that is not a practicing Muslim.

If you are willing to be subjugated to Islam and are willing to live under Sharia and are willing to renounce all other religions, then Islam is willing to live in peace with you. If not, Islam is more than willing to send you to Allah for the next lesson in subjugation.

As promised, here are my apologies. I re-read the Leviticus, and the death penalty was not supposed to apply to people sleeping with, or seeing the naked body of, an impure woman.

As for the New testament, you're absolutely right, there is no excerpt that can be used out of context to justify violence - quite the contrary. My own claims were related to the Old Testament, whose Leviticus, Deuteronomy and Judges contain some very harsh precepts (like the stoning of unruly children or the rules of Holy War against enemy cities).

I never wanted to liken Christianity to some bloody and murderous cult, just to point out that by quoting every holy book without taking into account the context of such excerpts, one could always justify one's views. For example, I suppose an Hindu or a Taoist reading the Apocalypse (or the Leviticus) could get funny ideas about what Christianity is all about.

This being said, I apologize for all those who felt offended because it certainly wasn't my goal to offend them.

"We are fighting 20 000 extremists and a few despots. Period."

Kepp on your blinders, it's easier for you to go through life blissfully ignoring reality. There are more than 20,000 islamic extremists in a London suburb alone alone. Just think of all the larger towns, cities, and countries where the mohammedans hold sway, worldwide, and even if a tenth of one percent of all mohammedans would be considered an extremist, that's some 1,200,000 extremists; on top of them are about 90% of the rest of islamidom who support or encourage those 1,200,000 extremists. That 1,200,000 is a VERY conservative number; the reality is much higher.

"A Christian nation, rounding up Jews to beat them up, seize their property, and ultimately killing them in the biggest mass-murder ever - because of their religion. (Nazi Germany)"

Don't lay that at Christianity's feet. Read your history. Nazism was steeped in paganism and the cult of the ancient teutonic warrior, all based upon a foundation of racial purity. The Nazis slaughtered a hell of a lot of Christians, too: It wasn't just the Jews who were sent to the camps (although there is no doubt that the Nazis reserved their deepest hatred for the Jews). The Nazis were more athiest than anything else, and if they adhered to any religious beliefs, they were similar in nature to the neo-paganism of today's American Left (Gaia worship, etc.).

I don't lay this at Christianity's feet. But the Nazis didn't come out of nowhere, and neither did their imitaors in occupied France.

Israeli officials always pointed out that while there were many Christian Justs that helped Jews escape death, there were many others who helped the Nazis. Hence the special relation Israel always had with Germany. Hence Israel's insistence of having France apologize for its particpation in the Holocaust.

All in all, I think that's fair and square. The Nazis weren't Christians, even some of their imitators in occupied countries dared call themselves as such. WHat happened in occupied Europe was not in any way linked to the Christian faith of dogmas. And indeed there were Christians who rose against Nazi tyranny - and who were sent to death camps of were decapitated for that.

But there were many others who did nothing, and said little more. To me - and I'm in no way pretending everybody should agree with that - it's like the Good Samaritan parabole, where the Levite - whose name suggests he's most keen on obeying Lord's words - turns away from the exhausted traveler.

Thank you. A lot of people mis-read Biblical passages either inadvertantly or on purpose. In Exodus, there are several passages where God instructs the children of Israel to kill all the inhabitants of the land, and their flocks. That is a very specific instruction and was only given to them and is not to be construed as something we should do today.

It's important not only to know what the Bible says, but also to know to whom it was said.
