The Day After Tomorrow, a disaster movie coming soon to a theater near you. MoveOn.org has touted the film as, "The Movie the White House Doesn't Want You to See."
For once, Moveon.org aka: the Socialist Elite are RIGHT ! Don't watch this movie !
and check out this site: http://www.naurepublicans.com
Actually the makers of the film are widely regarded as lightweights by the more serious film fans.
Their films have largely duds - Stargate wasn't good but it was watchable, Independence Day was hideously bad, as was their Godzilla.
Seems to me that they are going back to the formula that made them 'hot' - CBI destruction of famous landmarks which they over did in ID4.
Berst bet is that this movie does a gangbusters first weekend. Then word of mouth catches up with it and fades into the background and forgotten.
Talk of boycott only helps the film get word of mouth. Leave it alone -it is almost certainly a poorly made film (given its creative team) and will fade quickly.
Devlin and Emmerich usually make turkeys - this film doesn't look like a good disaster movie at all.
The movie is supposed to be TERRIBLE...a boycott will just be redundant.
Disaster flicks are so 1975. The teenage boys who paid their $3 to see Airport/Earthquake/Poseiden are now in their late 40s.
"The Matrix" is still the best special effects movie ever made. And it had a fascinating plotline.
This movie will make some money, but it will have a net negative return on investment.
No problem there. Most of what comes out in theaters is total crap anyway. This is no exception.
I'll be waiting until it comes out on DVD and I can rent it.
Don't Boycott...
Go and Laugh real loud at all the stupid global warming comments. All the dumb sheep will be "implanted" with
a subliminal message that this movie and its agenda are a joke.
then go outside and "Help" move-on to hand out eco flyers
but just take a stack and head home, stop somewhere on the way and dump them into the trash.
This is how they operate, so we will do the same.
It's War Baby!!!
You think you have fears? I've been having nightmares about "Killer Tomatoes" for years.
We saw it yesterday. If you've seen the trailers, you've seen it all. The rest is boring, I almost fell asleep, and hubby kept looking at his watch.
I will boycott because I refuse to watch movies to solely rely on CGI effects as a replacement for a plot.
First rule of disaster movies, you can kill people, but the dog must always survive.
How can you boycott something you never were going to buy in the first place?
Why not just let people make up their own minds about the film, instead of your making it up for them?
Maybe, he's decided to give celibacy a try.
BUMP
I never had any intention of seeing this stupid picture, so how can i act as if i *would* go see it, but since i'm boycotting, i *won't* go see it?
Be serious.
