You have to remember these are the same morons who in "Independence Day" had a woman and her dog in slow motion outrun an explosion in a tunnel.

LOL! I remember that scene. You do realize the reason she could run that dast was because she was a dancer, don't you?
Dancing gives you super-human speed, apparently. I don't know why the dog could run fast, however. It wasn't a greyhound.

we wouldn't really be able to upload an earthly computer virus to an alien system I have to work with folks from Ohio.
I'm a Texan and I virusize those aliens every chance I get. ;-)

A dancer, eh? I don't remember that part. Actually I didn't go to a theater and see it. My son was watching the video and after that I had to go outside and have a smoke and shake my head.
Refresh my memory. Was that music "She's a Maniac" playing as she ran in the tunnel? I envision whatshername in Flashdance moving furiously in place. Or maybe Jim Belushi on SNL.

"I'll be there, and laugh in the face of any global warming propagandists I meet."
Just remember that there is a "Chill Wind" blowing across this nation and apparently a movie screen near you, so please dress warmly. Frost bite is no laughing matter!

MoveOn.org has touted the film as, "The Movie the White House Doesn't Want You to See." They have an inflated sense of their own importance. I hardly think the White House gives a rip whether anyone sees a dumb movie.

I stopped going to movies when it started costing more the soda, popcorn and candy, than the actual movie ticket...and I won't be going back when the movie ticket starts costing more than the food items.
Buy the DVD...its cheaper.

I agree... What need is there to boycott a movie that looks so absurd that no one would bother to go see it anyway?

"Art Bell was a co-author of the book this movie is based on. I understand the movie is full of effects that are scientifically impossible like hail the size of bowling balls. Environmental scare stories are so absurd..."Art Bell, huh.
Who'd a thunk it.
And I would've bet anything that the Weather Channel was behind this dog.
...in a feeble attempt to shore-up their woeful credibity.

I'm opposed to picket lines, but I do not know how to demonstrate my opposition.See another movie, read a book, enjoy a walk in the park. Have a nice day anyway, no matter how much this movie wants to scare you. This isn't worth any more outrage than lukewarm ambivalence. It's the "Air America" of the summer movie season.
To: Vince Ferrer
Actually, that's a one-liner I stole from a very dry comic named Mitch Hedberg.

I saw him with his death-metal band. People either loved them or hated them. Or they thought the band was OK. ;-)

Good for you then, I was worried you were worried. In the next couple of weeks, as corporate heads roll over this, the only thing I want to know is whether the people involved had the opportunity to make The Passion of the Christ and passed it up.

I love that bit about how cheese in a can should be glow in the dark, to facilitate portion control. "It's not like the product has a lot of integrity to begin with."

Sorry, Mr. Hedberg.
