CNN - Moving Toward the Middle

Posted on 05/24/2004 8:01:52 AM PDT by xcullen

Has any FREEPers noticed that CNN's web site is starting to tack to the middle? They have been relatively sane about the abuse "scandal" and are including some balance within their articles. MSNBC at the same time has lost its marbles.

Haven't watched CNN in a long time. Rants, lovefests, and Carville turn my stomach.

I watch MSNBC because it is like watching Anna Nicole's program: A train wreck in progress....

Nope... when we found the IED with nearly a gallon of Ricin in it, the CNN website did not publish a single article about it... not one... zero... zilch.

It's only mention about it was deep in another article - a single sentence.

Don't watch or go to their site. Keep us informed. Let us know when they hit the center of the left wing wacko faction. Even that would be improvement.

Huh, I thought CNN was bought out by Napster and now is primarily involved in illegal music downloads.

Did a little reasearch on your tagline. It was the first I'd heard of that story.

Hell of a story. Hell of a man.

MSNBC at the same time has lost its marbles.

I have noticed how much the new PMSNBC logo looks like the Al Jazeera logo, Co-incidence, I don't think so!! LOL!!

CNN's biggest show is Larry King.

Larry King has moved from current news items to celebrity fare or tired old stories like Laci Peterson, Jon Bennet Ramsey, and even OJ Simpson. It is unwatchable.

If it appears that they've moved to the middle, its because they're reporting less news.

On Meet the Press, Russert had Bill Safire, David Broder, some guy from the WSJ and Robin Wright (who is no Evelyn Clift) from the Washington Post. Usually the flaming liberals outnumber everyone else 3 to 1. While denying they've been way to the left, I think some organizations are making an effort to be less obvious. It's way too late for me, until Russert, Kouric, Gibson, Lauer and the rest are gone.

Never noticed because I never watch CNN. Besides, a couple reports that are less-than-antagonistic doesn't change it's overall attitude (Conservative=EVIL).

Maybe some of the daily emails accusing them of being traitors, and the real reason americans are being killed has helped a litte?

Sorry. Wouldn't watch CNN even if it was the last newschannel on earth.

I flipped to MSNBC very early this morning as FOX was rerunning their Saturday business shows. It has gone over the edge. Total negative news for Bush, Iraq, oil prices et al. I was pretty amazed how bad it was.

I know one of the main managers of the web site. A friend of mine is married to the manager that sets up the poll questions, and edits the site. About a two years ago I kind of went off on her about how far to left CNN has gone, and she did not seem to care one bit? It blew my mind. Perhaps I insulted her by asking her, "What the h@#! is going on with CNN? It seems like you have a bunch of Socialist and Communist working there?".
