I am seeing Van Halen opening night in less than a month after seeing Rush's opening shows this week..I can't believe what the hell has happened to Eddie Van Halen.

Eddie had tongue cancer a couple of years ago. A hard life and a chemo regimen will make you look like that.

my goodness, he looks like he's aged at least 30 years!! If I didn't know that was him, I would suspect someone in his late 60's or 70! Yikes!

I'd be more concerned that Van Halen is doing openers, rather than being the main attraction. Eddie looks fine.

Well, Eddie'd been boozing heavily and smoking like a chimney up to that point, so part of it is no doubt self-inflicted. But ugly and alive beats pretty and dead every time.
You want to see a horror story, take a look at what a heroin habit did to trumpeter Chet Baker.

If it's any consolation to his fans, Van Halen's first album goes back to 1976. That's coming up on thirty years ago, folks. Edward Van Halen was 21 when his band was first signed onto a label after being discovered by Gene Simmons while KISS was on top of the rock scene.
Van Halen is only about ten years after The Rolling Stones got their start. None of the original bandmates are spring chickens.
I've seen Van Halen several times live during their heyday, it it seems like a hundred years ago sometimes.
