Same-sex marriages opposed in rally at Pershing Square By Chris T. Nguyen Associated Press

About 200 people opposing same-sex marriages held a rally in Los Angeles on Tuesday, urging state lawmakers to vote against a proposed bill that would allow gay unions in "The message we want to send is this -- yesterday in Massachusetts same-sex marriages began. However, in California same-sex marriage ends today," said Luis Galdamez, spokesman for the Campaign for California Families. "And we need to take it to the politicians. ... What we want is marriage between one man and one woman." Protesters shouted "no homosexual marriage" and waved signs, including one that read, "Let's not legalize immorality." Children, accompanied by their parents, also protested. A girl held a sign addressed to the Assembly speaker. It read, "Fabian Nunez: Californians overwhelmingly passed Proposition 22. Uphold the will of the people."

"Terrorism against America was September 11th. Terrorism against marriage in America is May 17th," Dr. Vicente Martin Garcia, president of La Familia Hispana, said Tuesday at the rally.

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, said people died fighting for civil rights for blacks. "For homosexuals to use the civil rights movement in order to further their agenda is an assault on black America," he said. "Homosexuality is not about family. It is not about love. It is not about civil rights. It's about sex and nothing else."

The stereotype drew the ire of a passer-by, 52-year-old David Merritt. "Get a life. You're sick," he told the crowd as he walked by. "They're condemning people. They're all out here telling people we're all going to hell."

Were there any pictures of any of the protestors humping one another as you may find in the "alternative" rally. I didn't think so.

I heard Reverand Jesse Lee Peterson on the Conway & Steckler show last night, debating the gay marriage issue. Rev. Peterson was awesome. He is so good natured and remains calm, and actually had some brilliant responses to some of the angry accusations and questions.

Unmistakable ethnic diversity in this crowd. Hey CAL GOP, take note! This is an issue you can own - if you have the guts to do so!

What a nice "clean" looking group. A real difference from the pics posted a few weeks ago of the filthy pro-abortion rally crowd and signs.

Notice how the last person "passing by" giving a negative comment is used to spin this as a mere religion issue.

Supporting marriage is about taking the institution OUT of the hands of the lawyers who are trying to reshap it into a socialist tool. (ABA model divorce code)

There is no need for religion to support the Federal Marriage Amendment. Logic dictates marriage be for the benefit of society and not for the adult sexual recreation of a few arguably mentally ill.

The mantra among democrat candidates is "homosexual give money". The Democrat Party is literally prostituting itself for homosexual dollars.

It is important to ask EVERY LOCAL CANDIDATE how they will vote for the Federal Marriage Amendment. Every puny state legislator will get to vote on this, this is why the homosexual are funding local democrats.

Remember the Democrat Party is the party of homosexuals.

"Impeach Judicial Tyrants" is my favorite sign in the pictures. If we don't reign in these activist judges who afterall work for us, then we are going to see more and more moral decay and socialist agenda in this nation. Our rights are threatened daily by these tyrants who have NO RESPECT for our constitutional republic.
