What brand of gas you should REALLY boycott!

For all of those getting e-chain letters saying to not buy gasoline today, or don't buy this gas brand or that, I have one company you can vent your anger on...CITGO.

CITGO is owned 100% by the Venenzuelan government, run by that nutjob dictator Hugo "parrotbrain" Chavez, the nutcase who is the main reason why OPEC is cutting production, and keeps ranting about cutting off oil supplies, seize this, seize that,etc.

If any of you have a CITGO credit card, cut it up,send it back, and tell them why. And don't buy gas or motor oil from these thugs!

I agree there is a lot of greed in the oil business...but to call them all "money grubbers" is generalizing it a bit.

All things considered, SOMEBODY has got to pump, refine, distribute, and sell the stuff. I don't know, maybe we could get them to set it up like Amway, and everyone have pumps on the front lawn.

We could pyramid this stuff, and everybody would make money...but wait. In these pyramid schemes the only ones who really make money are the top dogs who got in early...then THEY would be the new "money grubbers".

Oil has always been "black gold", and will be until some brainiac comes up with a viable alternative source of energy. Back in the beginning, the guy who had a "gusher" made the dough. It's a fact of life.

The envy of the rich will always bring accusations of money grubbing, greed, and unfairness...it's human nature. And like the old propector who fiercly guarded his claim, today's "grubbers" are going to guard their source of wealth. Those who hit life's lottery spend a good deal of their time and fortune, protecting their fortune.

So, the grubbers are going to be there, and there is very little any of us can do. A boycott is a fine and noble idea, but it has to really be organized and en masse to work effectively.

And, those other "grubbers" out there who make their living using transportation that requires petroleum products, well, they're not going to join these boycotts and ruid their livlihoods...they'll just pay the @-bucks a gallon and pass the cost on to the consumer.

Now, I think a faster way to fix the problem with dependence on middle east oil is to BOYCOTT THE ENVIRO-NUTS...and start the offshore and ANWR drilling ASAP.

Having lived most of my life in Texas I know how the Oil and Gas industry literally breathes life into that State - everything goes up in price, healthcare, cars, housing, clothing, food - why the H#*L do people expect gas prices not to go up?

I filled up yesterday at $1.89 per gallon. This morning at the same station it was $1.86. Those dang oil companies shouldn't lower the price like that. Boy am I steamed.

Short-sighted. You forget that most stations are owned by independent business men who buy gasoline refined by companies who employ thousands of Americans and who have thousands of stockholders, etc., etc., etc.

A gallon of gasoline is cheaper than a gallon of Heinz ketchup!

The oil was not Calif. heavy crude, it was oil from our national reserves. When Gore was running for pres we were having price increases do to supply and demand. To get some "brownie points" (for lack of a better term), Gore got Clinton to release some of our reserves so that he could look good. Anyway, after a few problems arose and they found it did not work, they needed to get rid of that particular oil from reserves and sold it at a loss to YES RUSSIA!

I was responding to assertion that Oxy was selling heavy California crude to Russia.

There are no SPR sites in California and never have been.
