I thought they might be (recycled). I KNOW I've seen the woman's picture... wasn't she or someone who looks like her called "Ms. Anthrax" or something? I can't remember which woman that was, or if they even had a picture.

Terrifying isn't it? Zarqawi could blend in anywhere too, if you've seen some of his pictures from the Rewards for Justice website. He looks like an accountant:

Terrific... thanks for posting your list on your page. One suggestion - maybe putting a date or version number on it so we know when it has been updated or expanded.

BTW... just received my order for an emergency radio from Amazon.com. You can crank it to power the radio and light if the batteries go dead... gets short wave too. Y'all might look into one, they're only $40.

Something else on that thread of interest. Anyone working or traveling by bus/train/subway or going into large buildings should take heed. Always know where the exits are anywhere you go.

HOMELAND SECURITY
Al-Qaida terrorists
to gas U.S. subways?
DHS memo warns of device that uses cyanide to asphyxiate its victims

WASHINGTON – Al-Qaida terrorists have developed a crude device designed to spread deadly cyanide gas through the ventilation systems of crowded indoor facilities such as subways, according to a closely held security directive issued to law enforcement by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and obtained exclusively by WorldNetDaily.

"Al-Qaida remains intent on using chemical or biological agents in attacks on the homeland," says the internal warning. "Terrorists have designed a crude chemical dispersal device fabricated from commonly available materials, which is designed to asphyxiate its victims."

Marked "For Official Use Only," the five-page memo issued Friday says the device produces cyanogen chloride gas and hydrogen cyanide gas, and can be placed near air intakes or ventilation systems in crowded open spaces or enclosed spaces.

"These gases are most effective when released in confined spaces such as subways, buildings or other crowded indoor facilities," adds the Homeland Security memo, which was distributed to federal agencies in anticipation of possible al-Qaida attacks around the end of the Muslim holiday Ramadan, which happens to coincide with Thanksgiving and the start of the regular holiday season.

Citing "recent information" from al-Qaida sources, the directive also warns of possible car-bombings in America, as first reported yesterday by WorldNetDaily, and advises security officials to take code-red protective measures to guard government buildings and gas and other chemical plants.

"Al-Qaida continues to plan attacks against U.S. targets," the memo asserts.

Despite the high-threat measures, the administration has decided to keep the public terror-threat alert at yellow, or elevated. Phone calls to Homeland Security were not returned.

Experts in chemical weapons say al-Qaida is known to have sought a weapon to pump cyanide gas into ventilation systems.

"Al-Qaida has shown an interest in cyanide as a weapon," said Amy Sands, former deputy director of nonproliferation studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California.

She cites Ahmed Ressam, the terrorist convicted of plotting to bomb Los Angeles International Airport during the millennium celebrations. He claims to have been trained to kill people with cyanide at an al-Qaida camp in Afghanistan.

"His terrorist masters also taught him how to introduce cyanide gas into public ventilation systems in order to affect the maximum number of victims, while minimizing the risk to the perpetrator," Sands said.

She also points to the nine al-Qaida-tied Moroccans arrested last year in Rome. They allegedly were planning to poison the water supply of the U.S. embassy with potassium ferrocyanide.

"Al-Qaida has shown a continued interest in targeting subways, rail systems, dams and water facilities" in America, the Homeland Security memo warns.

Noting the recent "sophisticated" car-bombings in Saudi Arabia and Turkey, it adds that the terror group may use "novel methods" to pull off such attacks in America, including disguising suicide bombers as women.

"Male bombers may dress as females in order to discourage scrutiny," the federal memo warns.

(the smell of almonds is a dead giveaway with this chemical)

Man Arrested At Capital For Alleged Holster, Suspicious Package

POSTED: 5:19 pm EDT May 26, 2004

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Capitol police arrested a man they say brought a weapons holster and a suspicious package into the Capitol Rotunda.

Around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, the Rotunda was closed and nearby offices were evacuated after police arrested the man.

Police used dogs to search for anything suspicious. Nothing was found.

The state House of Representatives was in session at the time of the arrest.

Police said the man did not get into the House chamber.

Going back to the date. Did we have any special meaning for 9-11 or 3-11. Or were they just random dates? Seems they are to smart to pick a day we could figure out although I know they like holidays. eek!

Also does anyone have a copy of Perez. Bush speech. I have a feeling he was talking directly to them and not us.

Here's something that occured to me last summer when the forest fires were burning nearby, and we were on notice to evacuate at any moment.

As well as keeping a bag near the exit door, for the next few weeks we might consider what we wear to bed in case we have to run out of the house in a hurry in the middle of the night. Not so much for modesty as for protection and warmth.

Found it, this is copied and pasted from what hubby wrote on a different thread here on FR. The italics are things others wrote that he responded to:

I witnessed a "dead drop" at Philadelphia Int'l on Monday, March 22. A thin, blue item was left under a seat near the security screening area and was picked up by a young, Arab male (he had to lift the chair to find it, it wasn't in plain sight). He was searched and hauled away within three minutes after I reported him to the head of security (after I was ignored by the first disinterested female security guard I approached).

The scariest part was, in a line of almost 200 people, I was the only person watching the guy. Everybody else seemed afraid to even look at him.

Did you ever figure out what the blue object was?

No, I watched everything from a safe distance. The last thing I wanted was for this guy to be released, recognize me as the paranoid infidel from the line and be stuck on a flight with him. I was already jittery enough about being on a Flight 11 that had originated in Madrid.

The object was about the size of a credit card. When he retieved it, he had his cell phone already out (though he didn't make or receive any calls), and he slipped the card behind his phone (it was in a case) and pocketed the cell immediately.

Did you mention to the other guards that the female didn't react/respond?

Sort of. The first thing I said to the security guy was "I just told the lady checking ID's in line and she didn't seem to care". I can't imagine anything ever came of it. In Philly International, if you talk to two security guards and actually get the attention of one of them, that's a pretty high batting average.

He was guilty of poor tradecraft technique if nothing else, to be witnessed by an alert citizen.

Not only that, but the guy went out of his way to look suspicious. He already looked a lot like a more Middle Eastern Richard Reid to begin with, but he had a black hooded sweatshirt on... and when he took his seat directly opposite the security screeners, he pulled the hood up over his head and eyeballed pretty much everyone in line for a good 60 seconds before he got up and retrieved whatever it was that was waiting for him in the seat next to his.

I was actually surprised that they found anything on him. My initial thought was that he was trying to bait security into harrassing him so he could file a lawsuit.

Then you think back to the 9/11 hijackers bragging about what they were about to do in a bar in Florida on 9/10 and you realize: these guys are evil and cunning, but they're not terribly bright. They're certainly capable of being sloppy.

Would you expand on the details such as how did you attract the attention of the head of security? Did you relate the lack of response by the female guard?

The security kiosk was on the other side of the X-Ray/metal detectors. I just approached him after I cleared security and told him everything I had seen.

I did mention to him that I had brought the situation to the female guard's attention and that she wasn't interested.

That's nearly the entire story as he related it to me, except for what happened when he reported the guy: The security officer thanked him, immediately stood and walked to the suspect. My husband went into the gift shop and watched from through the window, and within there were 10 or so agents surrounding the guy, and a broadcast over the PA for more people to come to that area of the terminal.
