Angry Moore Accuses The White House US director Michael Moore has said the White House is trying to keep his latest movie out of American cinemas. The reason - it could seriously damage President Bush's re-election hopes. The powerful documentary is to be shown at the Cannes film festival on Monday.
Fahrenheit 911 charts Mr Bush's actions after the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington.
It also explores commercial links between the Bush family and the family of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
Oscar-winning Moore claims it will turn voters against "the dumbest man who ever ran for the presidency".
The maverick director alleges there is a conspiracy to stop the film being shown in the US before November's presidential election.
An unnamed senior Republican politician, "someone connected to the White House", got the firms that bankrolled it to drop their commitments, he said.
Production company Miramax is now seeking a deal to buy out the US rights to the film after parent group Disney reneged on a distribution deal, Mr Moore added.
But he added that nothing has yet resulted that would allow the film to come out in the United States.
"That's the intent in trying to stop this film - so people don't see it before the election," he said.
If the Eurotrash hail this git as a genius, then what does that say about Europe? It is no wonder that Europe is sinking into the toilet of socialism.
Hey, he had to start somewhere to put on the pounds.
Since Moore believes there are such connections, he can easily do a variation on his usual blame-Bush routine.
Why doesn't Moore experiment with blaming the Arabs for his film's distribution problems?
What a joke. Am I correct in recalling that Mel Gibson didn't go around whining how no one would finance "The Passion"? Didn't he have to pay for it himself? I seem to recall that he took a big risk, and a lot of liberals hoped it would ruin him financially. As for Michael Moore's film, give me a break. Like President Bush has time for this crap. Someone should ask Michael Moore why he can't get Mrs. Heinz Kerry to finance the film? It would be a good investment for her, right? I'm sure she can afford it. Why doesn't he ask her for the money? Funny how the left's "artistic freedom" always ends up costing someone else's money... why doesn't Moore pay for his film distribution himself, like Mel Gibson did?
AS IF! What a maroon.
Oscar-winning Moore claims it will turn voters against "the dumbest man who ever ran for the presidency".
He needs to apologize to everyone who ever graduated from both Yale AND Harvard !!! The nerve !!!! I spit on him ..... ptooo !!!
Mr. Moore needs lyposuction, soap, shampoo, and lithium.
liposuction
"Lumpy Riefenstahl"???
Please explain - I know this will be funny.
If Bush is such a slave to the Arabs, then why has he never had Arafat (or any other "Palestinian" leader) to the White House even once, why did he invade Iraq over Saudi objections, and why did he give Sharon a green light? Doesnt pass the smell test.
Wow! You aren't too fond of Michael Moore are you? ; - )
Good rant, keep it coming!
Europeans are almost Arab-Islamic in their inability to spot and reject an obvious lie.
That's just it...Moore isn't going to have trouble financing his film because there are a lot of leftists who will lend a hand. I've already read that Harvey W. with Miramax wants to do it. He's known this for a year now...and he's using this fake controversy to get free exposure, especially since his liberal brethren in the media will run its legs off.
"Lumpy" - from the rotund character in "Leave it to Beaver"
"Reifenstahl" - from Hitler's film maker (propagandist) Leni Riefensthal
I can't understand why anyone takes this blivet seriously.
I think I'll just ditto what you said. LOL I can't think of anything to add to it.
Moore's not a maverick director, he's a left winger, just like all the rest of them. If there's a difference it's a hair's breath at best. He's ever so slightly more leftist. And cruder than most. The problem isn't Bush. It's Disney. Disney doesn't want to tick off over half their theme park attendees. And either does anyone else.
thanks - never watched "LittB" so I have no frame of reference, but i surmise it is far from complimentary to Moore (and apt)
and I think you are doing Leni a grave disservice - her films at least showed some talent :)
