I have heard that convincingly debunked as impossible with the larger more complicated designs.
Ooh, *this* should be entertaining. Please present this "convincing debunking" which shows that human production of a particular pattern would be "impossible".
You tell me oh magnificent one.
You ask eight questions ,
"Has any man ever been caught in the act of making one?
"How are they made?"
"Why are they made?"
"Who comes up with the designs and what do they mean if anything?"
"How many men does it take to make one like this one and how long does it take?"
"How many people worldwide are involved in making crop circles and why has no one ever ratted out the perpetraters?"
... because you are either to lazy to do the research, or don't really care about the answers, and I'm at fault for suggesting Google?
By 100+ pranksters. Do you likewise love to know how spray-painted graffiti get made in the millions all over the world?
It's interesting to note that the number, location, and timing of crop-circle appearances follow the same pattern as the spread of any other fad. For example, local outbreaks of crop circles follow local media coverage of prior crop circles.

Does our premiere school of science have that far to catch up with the jokesters of the world? Or is this what serious engineering grads do for kicks once they have that Masters Degree in hand?
That's impressive. A lot of work went into that so I'm not surprised that they want to be payed for it. It's not near as complicated or neatly done as some though. Some people are really busting their butts just for a thrill it seems to me.
How long did the Wright Brothers bust their butts before they invented the airplane, which they were told was impossible? Neither of them were scientists, either.
What about space exploration? It, too was considered impossible once. Boiled down, we really only did it out of curiosity. The benefits flowed from there.
The Pharoahs spend years building the Pyramids soley to have a nice mausoleum.
Humans will expend a LOT of effort on some things which, at the time, might seem trivial.
I never said or even suggested that crop circles couldn't be manmade. Can't speak for anyone else. The accomplishments you mention above weren't done by a handful of people working without support in secret. That's what seems unlikely.
What amazes me is how provoked so many people seem to be by the mere asking of logical questions. Some (not you) seem to want to shut down any critical inquiry from the get go. That's a superstitious mindset in my POV.

Could you imagine the furor if the Wright Brothers decided their invention couldn't possible make them any money? What would have happened if they had decided to keep it a secret?
I can only imagine what could have happened if they decided to pull some pranks by dressing up a Flyer with a body that portrayed something.

Entertain me and show me how you leaped from "rope and wood boards" to "human production?" Put down your Cracker Jacks box and think hard on how to stretch the chasm from a specific to a broad generality like that.

All I'm saying is that, just because something SEEMS unlikely, doesn't mean that it IS. It is a common thing in our modern world to assume that individuals, without some "help", cannot accomplish great things, or flights of fancy. However, there is abundant evidence to the contrary.
I've no fault with your asking honest questions of logic. That's why I provided the answers. You seem willing to accept them.
What drives me nuts is when others see the same evidence and discount it, mostly because of the false "researchers" and other Art Bell types, and their own wish to believe the myths over the truth.
Hey, at some point, we all had to give up believing in Santa Clause.
It sure has hit some nerves that I would ask some logical questions on this chat board. But I have gotten some interesting answers, some good links and some food for thought. It beats diving into the morass of a Google search with no interaction. (which is what most people come to FR for. Why a close minded loudmouth like you is here who knows?). I didn't put a gun to anyone's head to answer me.
