Saddams Own Torture Videos -- And Some Other Important Info On Saddam's Atrocities(warning-GRAPHIC)

When the "prisoner abuse" media-sponsored hit on the president broke, I remembered, in the back of my mind, having seen videos of what torture in was like under Saddam. It figured, I though, that the mainstream media found pictures of U.S. MPs making Iraqis wear underwear on their heads was more gruesome than Saddam throwing prisoners, head first, off buildings.
Anyway, I just discovered that some new videos of Saddam's own brand of torture are going to be revealed. These are supposed to be much worse than what we have already seen. But, I figured I'd see if I could dig up the ones that have already surfaced, but that the media has suppressed. If you have not already seen these, I highly suggest watching:
Click . If you have trouble starting it with that link, go to the FNC page here and the video is there. The link to the video is mid-way down the page, and the actual video starts after a short Fox promo.
For more info on Saddam's brand of torture, check out this story.
Also, I have put aside a declassified British Dossier on Saddam's torture methods. It is quite grisly, and you can download it here.
I also found two of Uday's torture "home videos" floating around. The files are a little large (~7megs), but you can get them here and here.
If it weren't such a serious matter, Kennedy's and Levin's mock outrage at our MPs would be laughable.
This posting should provide some much-needed perspective.

Saddams Own Torture Videos -- And Some Other Important Info On Saddam's Atrocities(warning-GRAPHIC)I'm sure that when Dan Rather and CBS went over there to see Saddam, they pinged Saddam on this?

Have we sunk so low as to use this kind of relativism to defend ourselves?
If I understand correctly, this posting is NOT meant to make 'relativism' a defense of the illegal activities of our people.
Rather, it is legitimate to point out that "abuse" (torture & murder) were sponsored by Saddam's regime. That, far from being rooted out & punished, those involved were state-sponsored, were ordered to perform them, and were rewarded for their acts of brutality.
Also, some top regime officials publicly gloated, often personally observed, and even some times actively participated in the torture, mutilations, and deaths.
In contrast, our people are under legal constraints NOT to engage in ANY form of abuse, including 'simple humiliation'.
Far from being officially condoned or encouraged, it is publicly condemned at all levels; and anyone performing or ordering such abuse is found out, investigated, and punished.
It is not a defense of the actions involved, but of the enormous differences between the systems, in regards to the attitudes toward, and the consequences of, committing the crimes involved under each.

Somebody needs to show this to our Congress, who can't tell the difference between minor "abuse" and real torture.
"But as a small group of legislators watched the images flash by in a small, darkened hearing room in the Rayburn Building last week, a sickened silence descended. There were 1,800 slides and several videos, and the show went on for three hours. The nightmarish images showed American soldiers at Abu Ghraib Prison forcing Iraqis to masturbate.
..."It was a very subdued walk back to the House floor," said Rep. Jane Harman, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee. "People were ashen."

IMHO, the President could put a stop to this "Prisoner Abuse" hit story quite easily. The solution is to go on the air, say that he's tired of the media demeaning the men and women of the armed forces, and that he wants to show Americans what REAL torture is. Then he could play the videos they have, like these, for all Americans to see via an Oval Office feed. That would give the media a black eye and put an immediate stop to all of this. Also, the credibility of the media would be almost irreparably damaged. For a coup du grace, the President could ask the MEDIA to apologize for their assault on the men and women giving their lives to defend our country. The President can reach the masses over the heads of the media -- he has the means, and he has the bully pulpit. It is high time he starts using it. The new tone is dead -- the country is OVER if Kerry wins. It is high time Bush stops playing nice and puts the good of the country (i.e. his re-election) over his high-minded, "play nice" attitude. I aggree, I think that this is the only thing that will stop the media in their tracks. Something must be done and fast. I am relly getting tired of the drip, drip, drip of the mainstream press.

Canadians are disturbed for letting their govt. get away with this.

Thank you for providing this information.
Is there any way to view video footage shot of the Two Towers, and people jumping? This should be available for persons who need reminding just why we are at WAR.... I'm pretty computer illiterate, but would appreciate any suggestions. Also, is there a way to post this on FR?
Thanks.
