Lowbridge scams the Nigerian 419 Email Scammers

Okay, to be more exact, this email scammer is NOT Nigerian, but from Abidjan. However, I do have a few Nigerians "on the hook" as we speak. I'll see how those pan out, and will post them on my site if they turn out any good.

What is the racket anyway? To get the $2500 and disappear?

Multiple levels of scam:

• Identity theft: they ask for personal info that they can then use for credit applications, etc.
• Wire fraud: the bank acount number provided will eventually be emptied of any money in it
• Ever-increasing "fees": they start by asking for a significant but small (compared to the share of the "money" the target will supposedly get) "fee" necessary for the transfer ($2500 in this case). When the target pays this "fee", another, larger "fee" is requested for another stage of the "transfer"
• Possible kidnapping: when the target has enough invested in the scam that they feel compelled to see it through, they are asked to meet in person. At this time, additional information/money will be requested to accomplish the previous tasks. Failing that, the target is kidnapped or killed.

Wow. Never seen a Romanian scammer. Most of my baits are of the typical African (South Africa, Nigeria) variety.

Dude, be careful. These folks have been known to kill people. Very, very funny, but potentially dangerous.

BTW... betcha they're not too computer savvy -- wonder if a backdoor trojan could be unleashed on these people, enabling you to invade/control/modifiy/delete their computer systems remotely? (Example: Back Orifice) Imagine being able to read their computers at will, warn other victims, pass info to the FBI, etc.

Any hackers out there up for the challenge? Any lawyers out there who can advise if this is legal? (Is it a crime to counterhack an overseas hacker?)

It's for real. It's not a photoshop job. It took me several tries to get this guy to do this right. The ifrst couple of times he sent me old photos with my chosens words scrawled on them, when I demanded a new photo with him holding my chosen words on a sign.

Him holding both his passport and ID is an added benefit that I did not ask for. He once sent me a scan of the passport alone and either it his authentic passport, or a damn good forgery. Either way, the Romanian police will love it (but not before I'm through with him).

His use of the english language is absolutely terrible. His emails are so badly worded, that it takes me several times to read them over in order to decipher them.
