It has come to this. In discussing Iraq, the Abu Ghraib abuses and the beheading of Nick Berg, Katie Couric summarized the situation in this way:
"It seems like it's become of question of who is the lesser of two evils."
That's right. Katie Couric wondered aloud who might be more evil - Al Qaeda, which, in addition to beheading Nick Berg, murdered 3,000 innocent people on 9/11, or the United States of America.
And please don't imagine for a second that Matthews came to the defense of the US. When Katie asked Matthews for his reaction to the statement from Sen. Zell Miller to the effect that the Abu Ghraib prisoners had underwear put on their heads whereas Berg was left with no head, Matthews completely, yes completely, ignored Berg's beheading.
His answer was entirely devoted to condemning the US for actions that made us look like 'perverts.'
Can Today, Katie Couric and Chris Matthews sink any lower? I suppose anything is possible, but they are going to have to work hard at it after this morning's despicable performance.
Catie Couric - War Correspondent. Chuckle.
Our brave Today Show Ping list holder happens to be one of the heroes who is willing to watch to keep us informed.
I turn it off after a minute.
"I'm surprised that Katie didn't get Michael Berg on. Daddy Berg seems to be selling the lib/dem talkingpoints, hook, line and sinker."
Mr. Berg must be observing the traditional mourning period for his son.
Be ready to see him on ABCBSNBC in about a week.
SORRY Jim and Mrs Jim
"It seems like it's become of question of who is the lesser of two evils."
This is the rationale of a 9 year old child. How can a supposedly educated adult pose a question which demonstrates such little understanding of the depth and dimension of the present conflict?
Thanks! Will do.
And didn't only half of eligible voters vote? (That's the figure I always saw, but I'm not sure whether it's half of registered voters or half of those who are eligible to be voters.)
Disgusting!....they'll be receiving several emails from me.
MEG, if you can watch this hour please do so, to confirm that I haven't lost my mind and really did hear Katie say this. It is so beyond belief that I begin to wonder.
Where's Fox News on this?
Did you catch the thread on The Abu Ghraib Collection? George Neumayr of The American Spectator argues that, "Had Robert Mapplethorpe snapped the photos at Abu Ghraib, the Senate might have given him a government grant."
You are asking a lot. I'll try but my even tempered, kind cool, demeanor may take a hit..or maybe the TV will shatter!
no... 43 percent of those 50 per cent eligible who voted voted for Clintonius. The other 57 per cent went for the split vote between Bush 1 and Peroe. The vote split was similar in "96. 2/3rd's did not vote for Clintonius...ever!
Which means that only 21 per cent of those eligible to vote voted Clintonius in...the other 29 per cent went for the other guys. Kind of sucks...huh?
I've e-mailed the Today Show- but for me- that's not enough. My son is with the 101st AB and this remark of Ms. Couric's rises to a new level in my mind. I'm searching for the NBC phone number- but am unable to locate it...anyone know it?
Normally, I am able to let these crazed media remarks roll off my back- but this one seems to have aroused my fury.
Eva Braun seeing moral equivalancy between terrorists and America is simply a warm-up. The statements by the left will get more outrageous and more bizzare as the election nears. The leftists really believe that the more shrill you are the more people will believe you. They will be bolstered by their own biased polls, thinking their message is getting through to the average American.
As for Eva, she's blasted off, is disconnected from reality and is about to go in orbit around the planet La-La Land. Watch for the implosion.
Gee Katie and Chrissy ... You're all heart
I just want to know why they hate this country so much?
There's that pot calling the kettle black again.
BUMP
