here is what i posted earlier...
heres an obvious observation thats been bugging me for a long time:
berg is absolutely clean, no scratches, no bruises. i even wonder if he new he was getting killed. until it was too late. maybe he had some connection with al qaeda, and they just turned on him?
most soldiers etc that these guys held were beat up. this guy was way too clean to be a hostage. he was WAY to calm while reading the list of names and just sitting there.
he wasnt tied down, his arms and legs were tied, but he wasnt tied down.
if he new what was goin on, why didnt he fight back? why was he just sitting there? i'd be kicking and screaming and biting and anything else i can think of. wouldnt go that quietly.

I don't think he was a CIA spy per se, but it might be possible he was acting as a double agent --- thus the so-called refusal to leave when asked to do so by the FBI, etc.
And, just a wild thought, was it really Nick Berg in the video? That is a really wild thought, but....
To: RolandBurnam
They all thought it was CIA operatives that killed Berg - just to take the heat off the president with the jail scandals. Those guys are absolutely nuts. I absolutely expected this theory to surface.

Excellent analysis.

I think the fact that Moussoui went to school in OK is coincidence enough.
To: jempet
I am 'glad', I guess, that FOX NEWS at least is talking about Mr. Berg, however the tangential nature of SOME reporting about Mr. Berg, is dismissive, at least it keeps the story in the news.
HOWEVER as this 'connection' with Al Qaeda is supposed to be coincidental, it doesn't pass the smell test when YOU couple this finding with HIS FATHER'S OWN WORDS about his son's beheading. (Paraphrasing) "They don't realize that they have killed a FRIEND."
Now that statement and this new revelation begs an INVESTIGATION!! Wouldn't you say?

Hi, Peach. Just saw your comment on the other thread and came on over. I am finding this whole tangled thing pretty interesting. Especially given Michael Berg's comment about how they, the murderers, didn't have a better friend. Very curious.

I started another thread before I was pinged to this one. I am glad you posted it.
This was the question I had:
"How likely is it that someone gives away an email account and that account ends up getting into the hands of the very terrorists that kill you in another country?"

"It was curious the way the person said "Freepers won't like it", like we are averse to facts when the opposite is true. That was the subtext of my post asking what he meant."
Not what I meant. I meant that this may well turn out to be a situation that makes a lot of Freepers mad, once the facts are out. Mad, in part, because they had taken up the cause of the kid so strongly.
That's all I meant.

"The most likely thing seems to be that Berg was involved with International ANSWER and went to Iraq to try to undermine the war effort on their behalf. His father appears to be active in Left-wing politics; his own anti-war activism was pointed out of Free Republic."
"Of course, if this is true he may have met with Al Qaeda in hopes of doing a favor for them. He may have thought that he was going to contribute to the ant-war movement by posing as a hostage."
Nick Berg, unlike his dad, was a supported of our President. Your scenario seems unlikely in that light.

LOL!!! You mean like the #1 Running Back and #1 Quarterback in the Country?
When Mack Brown went to Texas and the next year we hired Bob Stoops, some of our local morons on sportstalk radio said no way would Bob Stoops compete against Mack Brown for recruiting and that we should have hired Mack Brown.
Total silence from the morons now! Bob Stoops and his guys have done alright in recruiting.
Spurrier Jr. looks to be joining Mike Stoops at Arizona according to our paper. Rhett Bomar is tired of baseball and will be heading to Norman 1 June! An update from here in Norman! :)

It's just funny that you state this as being "the most likely."
Do you know how many student accounts Moussoui used while at OK. He may have used many accounts of people who forgot to log off in the computer lab. Who knows?
To: The KG9 Kid
He wasn't working for the CIA. They aren't going to send im into a Middle East country with an Israel stamp on his passport.

They are strange days and that Nichols trial is getting stranger. My tinfoil hat about the OKC Bombing and foreign involvement is firmly planted on my head now!
