May 13, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - Shocking shots of sexcapades involving Pfc. Lynndie England were among the hundreds of X-rated photos and videos from the Abu Ghraib prison scandal shown to lawmakers in a top-secret Capitol conference room yesterday.
"She was having sex with numerous partners. It appeared to be consensual," said a lawmaker who saw the photos.

"She was having sex with numerous partners. It appeared to be consensual," ....... "Almost everybody was naked all the time," another lawmaker said. ...... "It was pretty disgusting, not what you'd expect from Americans," said Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.).HUH? What was that again, Senator? Which America are you talking about anyway? The pre-1960's America I grew up in and loved so well? Or the sex-obsessed, anything-goes, 24 by 7 Porn Kingdom of America we live in now? Even here on a conservative forum, I have to argue with people (who apparently consider themselves conservatives) who openly advocate incest. I disgustedly broke off argument with them a couple of days ago.
The descriptions I see quoted above sound pretty American to me, Senator Coleman! Thank God most of our military come from the steadily shrinking portion of America that still desperately tries to cling to pre-60's American morals. But it can't be helped that a large number of post-60's Americans have slipped into the military as well. A small number of the very worst of these people were put in charge of a prison, due to timid Army beauracrats not willing to start a catfight with Congressional leftists by replacing a completely incompetent general a year ago - a general who happened to be one of the highest ranked female officers in Iraq, and is therefore untouchable no matter how badly she screws up.

In front of the prisoners?...Good Grief. Filming sex with multiple parners? Not good unless you are trying for porn queen.

Rich, she's the victim. Get with it, please. She received a direct order from Mr. Rumsfeld.
I can see how the liberals would believe that considering their history of ordering female underlings to give them sexual favors....

Women shouldn't be allowed to serve their country with honor, as they have all along, because this one humiliated a prisoner sexually. When men rape and beat prisoners, that's not so bad. /sarcasm

LOL. Well, guess I blew that one. Forgot to highlight the quote, but my "Peter Principle" comment was in regards to the "female general in command" mentioned in reply number 4 above.

That's what I heard, too. Graner is in one of the pics with her. They're all sick and twisted. :(

"...the worst punishment the military can mete out to this slut, is to distribute the most graphic photos of her in flagrante delicto (did I get that right?) all over the Internet..."
I really don't think she'd care. This girl, like so many other on college campuses and in country barns across America, simply does not have the moral compunctions we do.
Considering what we see on TV (and super bowls), it isn't surprising, I guess.

Sounds like just another weekend at the Kennedy compound.

Poor girl! She has sooooo... many supporters! She, her family and her lawyer blame the system for what she was allegedly forced or hoodwinked to become involved in.
Is she not a mature adult who could have done something - ANYTHING - to STOP this insanity, to exercise the "barest" degree of personal responsibility by refusing to follow orders which were repugnant to her conscience (if she has one at all)?
Now her lawyer wants to get a gag order against the President because Dubya is extremely angry and might prejudice the outcome of the case against poor Lynndie.
Hey, Lynndie, you ain't Shirley Temple, you ain't Judy Garland! It is no doubt commendable that your family and friends are rallying in your support and defense. But, quite frankly, I think Nick Berg would still be alive today if it weren't for the irresponsible actions of military personnel such as yourself.

That last bit sounds like a deliberate setup. This smells like a plot to discredit and diminish the US effort from the inside. Treason as it were. Could be wrong; but, it's a little too convenient and far too absurd otherwise.
Beyond that, the description of the events in graphic detail for public consumption is beyond reprehensible.

"We can thank the feminazis and the wusses who allowed (and continue to allow) themselves to be intimidated by them for that. Women obviously shouldn't even be allowed anywhere near a combat zone. ...nor anywhere near a military Academy, for that matter."
Amen.
But you know, my mother's bra burning generation screwed over not only men (some of whom deserve it for not standing up to it), but us, their daughters. There was a certain amount of women's rights that were necessary, but it's been taken so far over the line, it's backfired on everyone.
But they just keep right on pushin'...

I predict Leavenworth is in Lynndie Englund's future. This woman is severely twisted, and has done immeasureable damage to our war effort. Unbelievable."
That's exactly where she belongs. I hear it's hard labor in Leavenworth. Is that true? I have never heard of anything so bizarre, military-wise, in my life....

When can we expect moveon.org to reprise their "it's just sex" defense they used so often during Clinton's scandals?
To: fire_eye
Actually, it occurs to me that the worst punishment the military can mete out to this slut, is to distribute the most graphic photos of her in flagrante delicto (did I get that right?) all over the Internet, so everyone she ever meets for the rest of her life is sure to have seen them... I think she'd actually enjoy that. Any woman who would be photographed doing what she was doing doesn't have any shame.
To: BykrBayb
Please Barb drop your feminist machinations, you don't put males and females together in any type of combat situations. It's like telling a group of teenagers the nukes are on their way do as you please. Women have served the military well as WACS and WAVES, combat positions is no place to mix the sexes.

I tend to agree with all the remarks but I'd add one thing: she had a weird, satanic sneer on her face when she cryptically implicated her "higher chain of command". Hardly the demeanor of a hapless victim. Yuck.

We should start a wacko conspiracy rumor about how Bush forced her to do it. (Let's see... *this* one is going to take some fancy footwork...) Ah, it's not so hard to guess what the DUmmies might come up with related to Bush. Let's try...when Bush was AWOL 30 years ago he was setting the groundwork for women to be sent to combat zones to "service" the troops. AWOL, AWOL...etc.
