The slaughtering of Nick Berg is one small step for terrorists and a major leap for the West’s encounter with Jihadism. The videotape, posted on the Ansar web site, was one of many horrifying acts perpetrated by the followers of Osama bin Laden. It ended up becoming a shameful benchmark in the West’s liberal media reporting.
Thank goodness they didn't humiliate him. That would have been an atrocity.

Berg was a Jew. Now we know another reason why CBS doesn't want to show the video.
....didn't get the girl's name who answered but she said their phones are ringing off the wall, because "someone" published their private newroom line on the web...I can't imagine anyone doing that...it amazes me how upset the liberal media gets when they don't have TOTAL control...

The media knows they cannot keep the prison "abuse" story alive once this video is shown - its over at that point.

To all major coalition media outlets, We are at WAR with a Babarbaric opponent. They have innocent civilian hostages along with some of our own soilders. The jihadists have refused to surrender in Iraq even though Iraq suffered a tremendous military defeat. DO NOT use the lives of our fellow citizens to further some stupid internal political goals. In the long run all of our very lives are at stake. One of your responsibilities as media during time of war is to help make sure they treat our hostages appropiately. Overhyping a minor internal prisoner abuse scandal, was giving aid and comfort to the enemy. DO NOT sacrifice any more coalition lifes to your altars of political greed.

Let's start an internet campaign to insist that the major media - including the New Yorker, the networks, the major newsweeklies, and every major paper - run a picture of Zarqawi holding up Nick Berg's severed head. It's time to release the Pearl video and stills too. Enough with the double standards. The media were absolutely right to show the abuse photos. But they are only part of the story. It's about time the media gave us all of it, however harrowing it is.

I don't disagree that we can't win if we fight a PC war, but I can't help but feel that the tide is turning, maybe just a bit, but turning nonetheless.
A couple of points:
1. Guards have to use rubber bullets at the prisons in Iraq. [This came out in an article about an uprising at one prison. By luck, the uprising was countered by some military with 'real' bullets.]
2. After the prison scandal/pics emerged, now prisoners can no longer be hooded. [A military expert/author Michael Savage was interviewing Monday revealed this. I don't remember the guy's name.]

Fox & Friends just displayed the front page of todays NY Times. It has a picture of fighting in Iraq. Nothing on Berg.
They compared that to the front page of the NY Times after the prison abuse scandal broke. The front page was filled with pictures of us terrible Americans abusing those poor victims.

I downloaded the video and watched it because I want to maintain a level of anger against these animals. It worked.
I think these five guys have just sealed their fate, and the fate of any other terrorist who might crawl out from under a rock in the near future. The video is out there on the web, and it can be downloaded, and people are going to see it, and there is going to be great anger. So maybe Nick didn't die in vain.

Americans need to keep in mind one simple, unpleasant fact- this is the sort of barbarism that may be unleased on our fair land. There is no truce, no negotiation, possible with terrorists. Kill, or be killed.

I deliberately turned Fox on to see how they would treat it. Now I figure I can forget it. They do no differently from the others.
I did, however, hear a few worthwhile comments from Col North warning us that Berg is the face of Jihad and listing others (Americans) who have died similarly before this.
