Second because I realize that responding in kind would just beget more violence.I don't think so --- when the Muslims began slaughtering the over 2 million Sudanese people, there was no responding in kind and they continued to slaughter. The world stood by and allowed them to have at it. The only way to contain this is to fight back hard --- to realize it's a life-and-death battle.

The only way to defeat him is to be more barbaric, more bloodthirsty, and wipe his freakin' nation off the face of the Earth. Then tell anyone who dares complain to shut the hell up, or they're next. We're in the fight of our lives, but we're not fighting. We're trying to treat this as a PR and Civil Affaris war. All that comes after we've defeated our enemy.
Needs repeating. I swear that right now at this present time I could chew the flesh from their bones.

Beheading is a moslem hobby and pleasant diversion. Bosnia produced lots of pictures of moslems walking around carrying the heads of Serbs, men and women. Indonesia has produced such pictures. There are pix from Afghanistan and Pakistan and I remember great numbers of them from Algeria during the French war there. It's in the Koran. Sura 8:12.

it must be a politically correct target so as not to offend anyone howeverDamn stupid way to run a war, I pray everyday for a change in tactics on this WOT. I don't care about the hearts and minds crap, that will come after total annihilation. ANY war we launch should be a TOTAL COMMITTMENT, total destruction of the ememy, and everywhere he can hide.
One 'small' positive development in Iraq, yesterday in Karbala (I beleive) Steve Harrigan reported that we were shelling a MOSQUE that was housing some of Al Sadr's minions. Hope that is a sign of things to come.

Iraqi police turned him over to MPs. I'm positive the Iraqi "police" also contacted Al Qaeda and eventually collected a bounty. They knew he was Jewish, American and where he was staying. They couldn't turn him over directly to terrorists because the Iraqi police are being shadowed by the US.
Nick Berg was safe while he was in US custody. Berg's father filed suit in federal court in PA to have him released. He was released the next day. AlQaeda was probably waiting at the hotel for him.

After looking at what Nick Berg went through, who gives a rat's ass about the "pyramid of porn" at the prison? Nick's gruesome demise makes Iraqi prisoner abuse look like a trip to Disneyworld.
Since when does All-Killahs or Islamic Yeehaww or whatever the h e l l them diaper heads are called need a reason to kill? They have been murdering, executing, blowing up, cutting up, ripping up, and hanging people forever. What makes what they are doing now any different from any other time?
killing people is what they love to do best. They don't need a reason. They do it for fun. It's like a hobby to them. Bunch of mofo's.
Retaliation my ass.

reference post 94:
I've noticed a trend in the speeches of Zarquawi, Bin Laden, and Zawahiri towards rasising armies to fight the west, as well as Inciting the islamic world towards the establishment of a Caliphate in the Middle East and an eventual Umma ( worldwide Islamic kingdom of rule).
I wonder where the NOI fits in this mess, as well as 5 percent gang members. Interesting question for sure.

Berg was beheaded in this fashion, complete with audio and video because its obvious there are not "consequences' enacted great enough to discourage such a thing.
Its been month since the four contractors will dismembered and hung from overpasses. Fallujah and Najaf are still out of control, and now Kerbala is added to the list.
The simple fact is we have a failure of political will by the administration, by the President. Fallujah should have been CRUSHED no later than two weeks ago, same with Najaf. Sadr should be room temperature TODAY.
We are playing "not to lose" rather than playing "To Win". We are exhibiting signs of "weakness" to these animals, and surprise, suprise, just as the Art of War tells us, this is the moment to raise the stakes.
You can kill Americans in Iraq with virtual impunity at this point. It makes me sick. I'm willing to accept casualties, thats what happens in a war.
I'm not willing to accept actions that are not decisive, however. I can't help but feel my President is failing me today. On all fronts.

I suppose not - even though it could make sense to target a selected site. I absolutely don't believe in raining down indiscriminate death and destruction, but there ARE terrorist training camps in some Arab countries, and there ARE prominent citizens of aforesaid countries who give real and direct support to terrorist groups. Why could'nt we hit or seize these targets ?
To: SkyPilot
The media that released the photos and broke the story before it could be fully investigated have the blood of this young man and other who die as a result on their hands as does Kerry and every legislator that has turned this whole affair into a means for destroying Rumsfeld and Bush. Those who would use this war to further their own ends at the risk of harm to our military are no less than traitors and should be treated accordingly. Thanks to the likes of them, we can expect more of this sort of thing.
God Bless Senator Inhofe for his response yesterday. I hope we see more of our legislators stand up for our president and our men fighting for this country. Where are our Texas Senators?
I don't believe President Bush will pander the the media the same way we could expect a Kerry or Clinton to do. Expect his response to be measured, exact and hopefully devastating to the murders in Iraq. No better friend, no worst enemy.
