Kristinn just called me and asked me to post this thread.

He just called CBS Evening News and asked them if they were going to show the militant Islamists' video of the beheading of American Nick Berg.

The woman who answered the phone said that they were going to do a story on it, but they were NOT going to show the full video.

He asked them, "Why not, since you had no problem showing the pictures of the Iraqis being abused by our guys in the prison. Don't you think turnabout is fair play?"

The woman got mad and said, "Thank you for your comment." and then hung up the phone.

My teeth-clenched phone call went like this:

I'm calling from Tucson, Arizona. I hold your organization personally responsible for the murder of this young man in Iraq. You did not have to run the photographs, no military coverup had taken place. CBS's actions were seditious and treasonous. Is that recorded? "Yes, um, it is duly noted," said the rattled female voice. I hung up and posted this. The vibe I got is that CBS is very scared.

I had the same reaction to your first post. I didn't think you cared about this issue a bit. How dare you be so smug as to brag that you won't be calling CBS, because of course the "can't" show such a video.

Quite obviously, you just don't care a whit about what's right and wrong Willie. You just care about promoting your pet issues.

What CBS did in the first place, showing those pictures, was wrong. People told them, very publicly, that they were wrong. They now refuse to admit it, and you defend their position because "they can't show the video".

very first post - lurker since 2000...so be gentle. do ya'll remember the famous video and pic of the saigon police chief shooting the vc in the head? the networks had no qualms about running that vid, but it fit their agenda.

Exactly. And what is the difference to our media between that and this? That episode turned the public against America's involvement in that war. This video would do the opposite.
