FREEP CBS EVENING NEWS NOW !! (Beheading video)
kristinn | May 11, 2004 | self

Posted on 05/11/2004 2:57:03 PM PDT by tgslTakoma

Kristinn just called me and asked me to post this thread.

He just called CBS Evening News and asked them if they were going to show the militant Islamists' video of the beheading of American Nick Berg.

The woman who answered the phone said that they were going to do a story on it, but they were NOT going to show the full video.

He asked them, "Why not, since you had no problem showing the pictures of the Iraqis being abused by our guys in the prison. Don't you think turnabout is fair play?"

The woman got mad and said, "Thank you for your comment." and then hung up the phone.

Call CBS Evening News and let your voice be heard!

LOL!
YOU were not nice?
Oh Lord, now I've heard everything.
Good for you.
I'll not stand for Bush bashing either.
WTG!

I just called and was told "we just went out with the story." I didn't see it.

Taguba is up now. Someone in later time zones should check.

Excellent comment to the blood-for-ratings CBS News.

I agree & for that reason, as a culture, I don't think these people are very smart. I don't mean education, I mean street smarts.

Watching now. Rather not airing the most violent part. At least they showed the dull saber that made 5 freakin' hacks to his neck. But of course they wouldn't air it because it would offend the weak but they don't have a problem airing pictures of 7 idiots and going against Meyer's request not to air them because it would kill our people. Heck noooo. Then they have the nerve to call for a shakedown of the administration.

Prayers to Nick's family.

Hit the local affililiates as well...I did; might as well have them included. I dared the local station with the "your network has the blood of Berg on it's hands" comment.

I'm sorry, but the military can't keep the pictures out of public view they way you'd like. The pictures were sent to the family of Fredricks? by the soldier, and they tried to blackmail the Army. No luck with the Army, they went to Col Hackworth who got them in touch with CBS.

I agree - this is one of our your people and a grieving American family. It would really please Al Qaeda for us to air the video of their cruelty and spread their message.

Although I expect to hear the outrage of this tragedy - I don't want to see the video of the poor kid. Broke my heart to just see the picture. Bless his heart.

As deplorable as the prisoner maltreatment scandal is, those acts to not rise to the level of atrocity committed by the terrorists with this beheading.

Ahhhh! But the media has called the American soldiers mistreatment of the Iraqi prisoners "atrocities," as have their Democrat puppetmasters.

If they will air the photos as evidence of American "atrocities," then they should be fair and show the real atrocities as well, so we can judge which is more atrocious.

Unless you could somehow arrange to view the video aboard a Maglev . . .

lol... NOT.
I don't see where an American being beheaded in such a gruesome manner is occasion for such levity.

Please give us a link or URL. I've been looking for it for the last 10 minutes and haven't found it. If the MSM won't play it we still can.

I would also hope that, as a conservative, you would understand how airing the video of the beheading is "over-the-top" for American television. It is sufficient that the American people are aware of this horrific incindent, and it serves no valid purpose to broadcast the gory details. For that reason, I will not be contacting CBS as you request. I would consider such a broadcast to be in extremely poor taste and unnecessarily inconsiderate of the victim's friends, family and loved ones.

So, you don't want to nag them about the blood on their hands on just the off chance that perhaps they'll actually THINK next time?

They show the branch davidian building toasting those children regularly. They could show this if they wanted, but their guilt won't let them.

They didn't run with the prison story from January until they got pictures. With the American people, if there's no pictures, it didn't happen.

CBS is carrying the water for terrorists, and you've refused to even get mad about it. That tells me everything I need to know.

Done. Suggested that if they do not show this video as they did the prison abuse one then their journalist integrity will be questioned in the future and no longer be considered a valid news source.

Consider the wide spread play the Mr. Berg video is getting in Arab countries.

If it was Susan McDougall whining in an orange jumpsuit with Mark Geragos yelling, then they would show it.
