Chris Wallace Leaves me in Tears

I think, perhaps, your reaction is to more than Chris Wallace.

There has been nothing but wall-to-wall anti-America bs on the news...24/7 "committee hearings"...calls for resignations and impeachments every time a Republican sneezes without covering his mouth.

We've got brave men and women in harm's way fighting the good fight inspite of the media's efforts to smear them all---not to mention enemies plotting to kill us in our beds.

And all we hear are the ravings from John McCain, CiCi Connelly & Company.

It's enough to make us all cry.

OK, here is my declaration.

Over the past day I have decided I am not going to watch anymore of the feeding frenzy over the prison scandal.

I don't care if it is on CNN MSNBC ABC NBC or even FOX. The moment I hear how terrible the Americans are, it goes off.

I don't care how true or not true the story is, it has all the earmarks of being superhyped in order to damage our troops, destroy US prestige, make Kerry the antiwar guy look sincere and damage Bush and Rumsfeld.

The press is like sharks in the water. Maybe they can wreck our will to carry through with this war like they did the Vietnam war, leaving those poor people in bondage. They are gleeful about it. I am having no part of it.

When I look at what happened in that prison, I can't help but juxtapose those pictures in my mind with our dead men hanging, decapitated and burning, from that bridge. The Iraqis in prison owe US an apology for being so darn ungrateful, and I am sick of it.

THe following is what my husband had me send to Wallace after this AM's performance:

Chris Wallace:

This week's news coverage has been dominated by the treatment of terrorists in Iraqi prisons. The inmates there are murderers and bombers of the innocent; and that is why they have been detained.

The unfortunate treatment of these terrorists is the work of a few misguided and stupid members of the armed forces. The US Government doesn't condone this treatment and the American people don't condone this treatment. The Press is well aware that this aberration was NOT the result of some order, or policy, from President Bush or Secretary Rumsfeld. But that is all we've heard about all week.

We have been subjected to the photos (porn, in my opinion) with every broadcast. Our own adult children cannot even watch the news in their own homes any more for fear of the grandchildren seeing these images that you all so freely broadcast!

To try to single out Secretary Rumsfeld as the focal point of this mess is strictly political partisanship on the part of Senator Edward Kennedy whose well publicized public life can be characterized as one of shameful excesses, if not criminal excesses.

For the press to allow him to get away with his phony outrage is sheer hypocrisy. Where is the press outrage against Russia, France, Germany and the UN whose officials have embezzled billion of dollars from the Iraqi and American people over nearly a decade through the UN "Oil for Food Program"?

The press has focused on President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Secretary Rumsfeld, while ignoring the many other problems out there. We certainly have problems to solve in Iraq, but those problems pale in comparison to the UN, which has authored one of the biggest financial embezzlement schemes in the history of mankind and are in the midst of destroying the documents in an attempt to cover it up.

In addition, we learn today of possible financial ties between the Hussein regime and the Blix weapons inspectors. Where is the press outrage over that? That is by far the bigger story.

The press in the US is as phony as the UN officials who claim they want world peace.

Here's my advice: stop whining, turn the damn TV off (even FOX is mostly sensationalism), and get out and campaign for President Bush.

Besides, the best place to get news is from the internet and FreeRepublic.

I'm just wondering if we watched the same show? The Show I watched show schools being opened, hospitals being resupplied, the infrastructure being rebuilt. What show did you see?

I have simply given up on watching the Sunday shows, and will only watch Fox News with Brit Hume, O'Reilly, or Hannity on. I am now getting a very good understanding of how it must have been like during Vietnam, with these bastards in the press/t.v. constantly being Chicken Little about every little negative thing. Thank God for Fox News and the internet (even Wallace is on Fox News, I only watch the round table at the end of the show, when Brit, Fred, or Tim Sammon are on).

Were we in completely different dimensions? The tribute happened. It listed the accomplishments, such as running water, etc. If anything, I was worried that leftist morons would say that it proves a pro- Republican bias. Then again, I wasn't watching that closely.

Are you sure you listened "carefully"???

When the "Iraq Accomplishment Tribute" segment of the show started, Mr. Wallace read an e mail accusing Fox for being a "front" for the Bush/Cheney White House. He stated that Fox is "Fair and Balanced", and offered the differing opinions in the opening segment as proof. I didn't find the opening segment offensive. John McCain and Evan Bayh expressed their views in a sensitive manner. Senator McCain's words about Pat Tillman were particularly touching. I thought I was up to date on our Iraq accomplishments, but, even I was surprised by some of the information Chris Wallace divulged. It was a GOOD thing for America to hear, and I'm sure MANY people were hearing it for the first time. And I was glad to hear that he intends to continue to make our progress in Iraq a part of his show. I think Fair and Balanced is acceptable. If they would come out with cheerleaders wearing Bush/Cheney buttons, don't you think they would lose credibility?? Sorry to disagree with you, but FOX will continue to be the ONLY news channel I will watch!!

Hey if your blood pressure could have stood it, you should have hung around long enough to hear Cici during the panel discussion talk about First Ladies.

She thinks Teresa Heinz Kerry is an individual but many of the First Ladies have been "Stepfordish" and "cookie cutter" types.

The inference was clear that she was talking about Laura Bush.

I emailed Fox, it was disgusting.

I saw the segment and I was amazed at the ability of the church that was shown and their freedom to worship now. My concern once it was over was that they would continue in freedom and not be attacked by the terrorists.

It's unfortunate you were hurt so terribly. I'm sure that wasn't Wallace's intention.

Patty, I am so sorry that you were angered and upset by this, and I don't blame you at all.

The only way I can deal with this awful, endless, badgering coverage (even on Fox) of the prisoner abuse is by not watching anything.

We'll tape Special Report and watch segments of it, but basically our TV set is off until this story fades.

What happened was sickening, but this media hostility is more sickening.

The wrongs are being dealt with, and have been from the beginning. When the President, Rumsfeld, Myers, Abizaid, etc. speak, I will listen. Other than that, I don't.

God bless you, Patty for what you have done, and continue to do for our troops and America. (I will get back to you soon about your freepmail).

And God bless and protect our troops, and our fine Commander in Chief!
