Chris Wallace Leaves me in Tears

Chris Wallace advertised his Sunday news show as a time to put the names of our fallen soldiers in context.
Ted Koppel had simply read the names of the soldiers who have sacrificed all, the last full measure of devotion, for us to live in peace and for the Iraqis to have a unique and blessed chance to find peace and security and democracy. So, Chris Wallace decided to have a show to put those sacrifices in context, and talk about all the good things that the American soldiers had done in Iraq.
So, I tuned in, and I am still sobbing and shaking with anger remembering how he started the show with over fifteen minutes of a rehash of the last 10 days feeding frenzy over the terrible abuses a few soldiers had perpetrated on some Iraqi prisoners.
CONTEXT?!?!
THIS is the context you want me to remember our war dead!!
You garbage, you thoughtless garbage!
I was too upset to watch the "tribute" which came after the filthy trash.
I'll never watch that cruel, demented show ever again.

No, the article was completely neutral, but it doesn't sound good to me. It almost sounds like a plan to destroy the conservative bent of FOX from the inside out.

I saw the segment and I was amazed at the ability of the church that was shown and their freedom to worship now. My concern once it was over was that they would continue in freedom and not be attacked by the terrorists.
It's unfortunate you were hurt so terribly. I'm sure that wasn't Wallace's intention.

I too am done watching or listening to anything negative.
Done, Done, Done - I will continue to concentrate on the great accomplishments we are making in Iraq.
The left wing media has taken this and is running wild with delight...
It only upsets me and I have decided to spend my energy on positive prayer.
I am not moved by these scenes (of 'humiliated' Islamic insurgents) the media shows over and over -- and think the 'arab street' concerns are nauseating...there will always be something that the Islamic/middleastern/arab population is dramatic and upset about. It never ends.
The arab/islamic communities will never take responsibility for themselves.
Our soldiers and civilians have been mutilated, burned, hung, dragged - their people have been slaughtered, raped and tortured - We have never heard an 'apology' out of anyone's mouth from the Islamic world.
Never heard an apology regarding September 11th slaughter.
No apology for the scenes of the 'arab street' cheering about September 11th.
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Patty, I am so sorry that you were angered and upset by this, and I don't blame you at all.
The only way I can deal with this awful, endless, badgering coverage (even on Fox) of the prisoner abuse is by not watching anything.
We'll tape Special Report and watch segments of it, but basically our TV set is off until this story fades.
What happened was sickening, but this media hostility is more sickening.
The wrongs are being dealt with, and have been from the beginning. When the President, Rumsfeld, Myers, Abizaid, etc. speak, I will listen. Other than that, I don't.
God bless you, Patty for what you have done, and continue to do for our troops and America. (I will get back to you soon about your freepmail).
And God bless and protect our troops, and our fine Commander in Chief!

You're welcome!! I'm posting the information about the "Kerry Lied. Good Men Died" rally on September 12th, everywhere I can. We MUST expose this pandering traitor!! And I will do whatever I can to make that come true!!
http://www.KerryLied.com One last thing about FOX. Can they do better?? Sure!! Should they be lumped in with ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN?? NO WAY!! I prefer "fair and balanced", to "biased".
Afterall, FOX must be doing something right, or the left wing nuts in this country wouldn't be in such a "hissy fit" about the Fox News Channel. Actually, fair and balanced is a good thing, because we get to see just how stupid and reactionary the left wing nuts really are!! :-)
See you in Washington on September 12th!!

To: GeorgeW23225
If FOX was "fair and balanced" they would have covered the Swift Boat Vets ENTIRE Press Conference.
They have air time to devote to President Bush and Sec of Defense Rumsfeld when it's negative.
I can't support FOX since they are biased in favoring a known traitor, Hanoi Kerry
The one thing you and I can agree on is Hanoi Kerry must not win.

I was pretty disappointed as well. I knew he would *have* to cover the "scandal", but when the tribute came around - I watched.
ALL EIGHT MINUTES OF IT! I checked the time it started, and ended. EIGHT MINUTES. What a wretched tribute. And a flat response to Nightline's hour. He's been hyping his response for 2 weeks, and I'm sure that list of things we've accomplished covers more than 8 minutes. The list included some wonderful things - things I didn't know. But I also know about a lot of things we're doing over there and have been doing, that should have made that list and didn't. Just ask Diogenesis and look at those pictures on the "Gotta See This" threads!

Thanks for the ping, patriciaruth. Having had company for the weekend, I didn't get to watch it and am really disappointed to hear you say that it wasn't good!

I thought it went well... I didn't expect him to drag it out over the course of an hour. He said what needed to be said, and made Koppel look like a fool. He put the names in context, and paid tribute to their accomplishments in the war. I think he did well.
