In his latest article, Harry Browne, who I used to admire, draws several conclusions. Among them:
- He says that war and atrocities go together and that the best way to avoid atrocities is to not go to war in the first place.
- He claims that although Bush was informed of the atrocities in January, nothing significant was done until CBS broke the story recently. To illustrate his point he cites a link to a timeline of events. Ironically, Browne's own cited timeline link shows significant action had been taken much earlier and that Harry Browne is a liar.
- He also tells us that Bush is both dishonest and dense.
If you actually want to read Browne's drivel, click the link. I'm not sure if we're allowed to post articles from his site.

I'm not sure if we're allowed to post articles from his site. It's not forbidden, but it would be an indication that we are a dumbass.

Why? Why? Why? Because we who our in support of our couragous President will not allow our evil enemies to exist in comfort to plan our deaths at their leisure. Our enemies love this kind of talk of dissent, it encourages them to fight on and kill our military. Harry Brown and others who refuse to at least be silent while the work of the good against the terrorist is being done are the ones responsible for the deaths of our military and others. How many times would Harry Brown allow someone to punch him in the mouth before he fought back? Has he ever heard of 9-11? AMAZING!

Harry Brown thought we were wrong to go to Afganistan as well. In other words, Harry Brown is a dolt.

...I'm a registered libertarian, and, I voted for Browne in 2000. Let the flames begin. As always, all the facts are not in. But, I can't believe that nothing was done. GWBush had a plan for the nation, when he was elected. After the attack on the nation, he had more important things to deal with. When at war, lots of things the CIC will not discuss. I might dis-agree with that in principle, but I'll back him on his right to do so. As for reasons not to vote for libertarians, I'll take that into consideration one issue at a time.
...BTW, In Virginia, Bush will get the Electorate with out my vote. But on this issue, I will vote for him in 2004...

Who's Responsible for the Iraqi Prisoner Abuse?
CHAIN OF COMMAND ?
Bill Clinton's Army ?
The investigation of Abu Ghraib by Army Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba found serious problems with the brigade's leadership, including its commander, Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski.
Taguba wrote that even after the abuse at Camp Bucca in May 2003, Karpinski did not give the unit proper training.
"I could find no evidence that BG Karpinski ever directed corrective training for her soldiers or ensured that MP soldiers throughout Iraq clearly understood the requirements of the Geneva Conventions relating to the treatment of detainees," Taguba wrote.
How did Karpinski make it to Brigadier General ??????
Political Correctness !
Bill Clinton's Army ?
She has no demonstrated leadership skills.
She needs to be Court-Marshaled for failing to follow orders.
She needs to be sent to Fort Leavenworth; but it will never happen cause she's a girl.
We need to send a message to the rest of the world
that women in Western Culture are held equally responsible as men are.
Who was Karpinski's immediate superior ??
Who did Karpinski report to ??
That person should also be held responsible and have at least a reprimand in their personnel jacket !
Failure to supervise Karpinski after she was clearly told what to do six months before !
The officer in charge of the prison was Lt. Col. Jerry Phillabaum, a reservist who commanded the 320th Military Police Battalion. Taguba found that Phillabaum was "an extremely ineffective commander and leader" who did little after the Camp Bucca beating incident five months earlier to put his soldiers on notice about proper detainee treatment......
Phillabaum, a 1976 West Point graduate, ....
We need to review the Leadership Skills training at West Point !
West Point produces "an extremely ineffective commander and leader"
He needs to be Court-Marshaled and spend time in Fort Leavenworth
Those members included Staff Sgt. Ivan "Chip" Frederick II, 37, who had worked as a correctional officer at Buckingham Correctional Center in Virginia, and Spec. Charles Graner Jr., 35, who worked as a prison guard in Greene County, Pa.
Spec. Sabrina Harman, 26, a former assistant manager of a Papa John's Pizza from Alexandria, Va., told Taguba's investigators that Graner and Frederick were responsible for getting "these people to talk." She told The Post that military-intelligence officers "made the rules as they went."
Frederick and Graner need to be Court-Marshaled and also spend time in Fort Leavenworth.
Two other questions :
Where was the Inspector General following the incident in Bucca ?
Where were the Army Chaplins during this time??
