A humbled man? I read or saw something that indicated that Roy Black was working with the prosecutor some 9 months prior to Rush's admission of use and detox efforts. That's a humbled man? That's a man who was caught and exposed and finally had to do something about it. That's a a man who many for a long period of time noticed his speech, and other mannerisms slipping.

I'm not saying there is no political motivation behind this attempt at prosecution. Frankly, it happens all the time with both parties going after those of influence in the other. Limbaugh is hardly the exception, but a well known rule.

It is hard to imagine that the historic Republican takeover of Congress in 1994 would have happened without Mr. Limbaugh articulating the virtues of smaller government day in and day out over the airwaves.

Had nothing to do with smaller government per se

Were them angered Gun Owners over Clinton's assault on their rights and Christian Conservatives angered over abortion and homosexuals in the military

I believe Rush has paid the price. In my line of work I see many addicts who are not criminalized. I think that a little compassion needs to be shown his way along with others who deal with chroinc pain and are desperate to be rid of it. I'm not saying what he did was right but since I have never known chronic pain I can't say how I would handle it either. He humbled himself to world, has sought treatment and I hope he is on his way to healing. I would wish that for everyone.

Sure Rush had a problem but he dealt with as a real man would. Rush just needs to watch out for Hitlery's Gestapo. I'm of the many thats got his back.

The DNC will regret these gestapo tactics one day. Rush has spent the last 15 years leading the conservative debate. And even without him, his legacy will speak loudly for decades to come.

Thank you Rush.

The paw prints of the clintoons are all over Rush's troubles. Don't ever underestimate what the clintoons will do to squelch their enemies.

There can be little doubt that legal actions against Rush Limbaugh are politically motivated.

No doubt at all. Clearly the drugs were planted, his addiction was a big conspiracy and someone forged all those prescriptions. It's all a liberal plot.

If only Rush were an actor instead of a conservative radio talk-show host. His medical records would still be private.

I know I am going to get flamed for this, but it's been on my mind and this thread seems like a good time to raise it.

I am concerned that Rush is back to using drugs of some kind.

His sniffles, which he attributes to too much laughter, are occurring with more and more frequency. His words are slurring a bit here and there, especially the K's and S's. It's not really obvious, but I've heard this voice nearly every day for over 20 years, and I am familiar with all of its nuances. It was worse a few weeks back than irt has been recently.

The other day, a female caller referred to his wife Marta, and Rush changed the subject, did not acknowledge Marta's existence at all. It's possible that he's on some doctor-prescribed regimen and doing nothing illegal, or it's possible that I am over-sensitive.

After so many years listening to him, he is like a family member. When I sense he might be going off the wagon, my antennae go up. Not that it matters much. Whether he takes drugs or not is his business. He has not crossed over the line and started lying to the audience, although the sniffles excuse is very flimsy.

I would stop listening to Rush if I thought he was lying to me. He is nowhere near as critical of the hypocricy of the Republicans as he is of the Democrats, but I accept that. He is revealing the truth about the left, and I can get the other side from NPR or CBS (or better yet, the CATO Institute).

When he refused to address the drug issue the last time, I stopped listening to his show for a while because I felt he was taking me for granted. At this point, I see no reason why he should reveal whether he is using drugs or not unless he is put into a position that the drug use affects his fiduciary relationship with his listeners. If he is truly an addict, and he is back to using drugs, that time is coming. It's inevitable.

Anyway, I am wondering if others are noticing these things....

Is Sam Dealey going for the record of just how many WRONG FACTS you can get The American Spectator to print ?

"As Sam Dealey explains in the cover story of the May issue of the American Spectator, Mr. Krischer repeatedly assured Mr. Limbaugh's attorney that the broadcaster was not a target for prosecution.
~snip
That all changed after Mr. Limbaugh's housekeeper sold a story about her boss's pill problem to the tabloids. "

Krischer NEVER spoke to Limbaugh's attorney BEFORE the article came out. ( In fact Kennedy criminal lawyer Black was not even one of Rush's attorneys before the article was printed.)
