McCain is a RAT. He is mentally unstable since his POW days.

FYI..during WW II...unionized stevedores loading the supply ships went on strike for higher pay...

I don't see the relevance at all.

Oh, FGS ! Now McCain is grandstanding. If they're going to conduct a public hearing they need to ask questions and cut the speeches.

Wouldn't be nice if ANY Senator would preface his/her diatribe by first praising the work the Armed Forces are doing and acknowleding the sacrifices they are making for us?

McCain,

I fear losing public support for this conflict, much like the public did to Vietnam. Unless there is a full investigation. Mr. Secretary, please list the chain of command from the Guards up to you. What agencies or private contractors were in charge of interrogations, did they have authority over the guards and what where their instructions to the guards. Some hesitation becuase the chart is missing showing the chain of command. Mccain pressuring Rummy to answer the Contractors question.

It would be bad enough if done to Americans, but to Moslems...

This is the kind of sentiment I am hearing all over FR since this scandal began. I have never disagreed with my fellow FReepers as much as I have in the past few days.

It was the attitude of the Germans as WWII began, toward the Jews. I wouldn't treat my DOG like that, but to JEWS, it's OK. Why on earth do Muslims deserve bad treatment? Now, if you are talking about criminals or terrorsists, that's one thing. But you think it's OK to be cruel to Muslims. Slippery slope, my man.

"Rumsfeld said he would provide for compensation to the abused prisoners."

Great! Watch every single prisoner stand up and claim abuse. (It's in the Al Qaeda manual) Best deal the terrorists ever had.

Something tells me that the "compensation" will be something
along the lines of an extra slice of bread for a week or an
hour of TV... LOL...

Rumsfeld: As I understand it there were two contractors and I was advised by Gen. Smith there were 37 interrogators.

McCain: Who wasin charge?

Answer: The brigade commander. He had tactical control over the guards.

Rumsfeld: I thought the purpose of the question was to get an accurate answer.
