Interesting. I was hoping they'd go for broke for Rummy as I strongly suspect it would backfire on them. I think John Q. Public is actually a bit resentful of all the media coverage of this prisoner abuse story. I think everyone's a bit ashamed and knows we have to take our lumps, but the double standard the world is holding us to is painfully obvious to most everyone.

But according to our source inside the Kerry campaign, Interesting that a source privy to the phone calls would blab. Not exactly cabinet material, here.

The photos of those alleged cases of abuse have enraged the Arab world. I get so sick of that line.
Photos of the twin towers burning and bodies being dragged through the streets of Fallujah and then grtoesquely displayed have angered the Western world.

It hadn't occurred to me that this could backfire on Kerry. I say "bring it on"...I think Rumsfeld can take care of himself.

Hmm. We'll see who's running the Democratic Party
real quick.
If they're polite and deferential to Rumsfeld, Kerry's calling the shots.
If Senator Clinton takes the lead in castigating the SECDEF, then I would advise Senator Kerry to not fly on light aircraft, or to accept any invitations to Fort Marcy Park...

Ann Compton on ABC radio news just said something SO politically incorrect! She said some lawmakers on Capitol Hill were calling for Rumsfield's "scalp".
To: crushkerry
But according to our source inside the Kerry campaign, John Kerry badly wants the issue to go away. Kerry fears the longer the issue stays in the news, the greater the likelihood his controversial accusations of war crimes committed by US soldiers in Vietnam including his own will become an ancillary issue in the campaign for President. The 9-11 Commission is already going to discredit Bush in their report. If we push things too far, there is bound to be a backlash, our source told us. Tonights cable news talk shows were proof. Virtually every one of them ran footage of John Kerry in 1971 trashing his fellow veterans and admitting atrocities. This is the way it should be. These Americans trying to keep us safe in Iraq have done nothing in comparison to what Horseface Kerry claims to have done in Viet Nam.

FoxNews just reporting, Rumself is going to apologize to Congress for not keeping them informed.
Well, the media have tried for weeks to get the Admin to utter the a-word. Looks like they are getting it---yesterday from GW and today from DR.
