Received another letter from Gannett Publications, publisher of USAToday, and several other newspapers. Due to contractual arrangements they have with third-party content providers, they have denied our request to allow posting of excerpts. They will only allow the posting of titles and links.

"Thanks Jim.Jim keeps a UPDATED list of the bad guys HERE:
Being somewhat new here, is there any facility on this site that automatically scans the publication title to make sure the rules are being followed? It sure would be rather cumbersome for us to scan a list like this every time we post a news article." - mcg1969

What a great LOGO!!!!
He came up with this in a minute or so after he made this comment and I said what a great tagline that would be.
"Received another letter from Gannett Publications, publisher of USAToday, and several other newspapers.More bad news PING!Due to contractual arrangements they have with third-party content providers, they have denied our request to allow posting of excerpts.

Naa. Just throw it out to begin with.
Prairie
hehe ! It looks like the answer is 'no' ...
OK idea 1 didn't work, so I'll think a little longer, but there as GOT to be a way of electronically archiving articles published in the public domain. So researchers can access them, I can understand content providers wanting the hits, that's fine, but archiving, for historical purposes serves a greater good, perserving the truth, or at least the truth of what was said/writen when.
Looks like 'fair use' ain't what it used to be. Whatever.*Sigh* .....
