A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Suggestions on how to live a happy & rewarding life:
|
Take time to smell the roses.
Adopt a dog
.or a cat (or some other creature from God)
Have a firm handshake.
Return all things you borrow.
Surprise loved ones with little unexpected gifts.
Make the best of bad situations.
Always accept an outstretched hand.
Use your wit to amuse, not abuse.
Take a photography course.
Hug children after you discipline them.
Hug pets after you discipline them.
Choose a charity in your community and support it generously with your time and/or money.
Forget the Joneses.
Make it a habit to do nice things for people wholl never find out.
Visit Washington, D.C., and do the tourist bit.
When someone is relating an important event thats happened to them, dont try to top them with a story of your own. Let them have the stage.
Strive for excellence, not perfection.
Be tough minded but tenderhearted.
Dont waste time responding to your critics.
Be original.
Be neat.
Measure people by the size of their hearts, not the size of their bank accounts.
Dont forget, a persons greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.
Feed a strangers expired parking meter.
Commit yourself to constant self-improvement.
Dont allow the phone to interrupt important moments. Its there for your convenience, not the callers.
Spend less time worrying whos right, and more time deciding whats right.
Be willing to lose a battle in order to win the war.
Dont be deceived by first impressions.
Never cut what can be untied.
Discipline yourself to save money. Its essential to success.
Remember that winners do what losers dont want to do.
Try everything offered by supermarket food demonstrators.
Just for fun, attend a small town Fourth of July celebration.
Be there when people need you.
Be decisive even if it means youll sometimes be wrong.
Dont let anyone talk you out of pursuing what you know to be a great idea.
Get your priorities straight. No one ever said on his death bed, Gee, if Id only spent more time at the office.
Have a friend who owns a truck.
Make a list of twenty-five things you want to experience before you die. Carry it in your wallet and refer to it often.
Laugh a lot. A good sense of humor cures almost all of lifes ills.
Look for opportunities to make people feel important.
Be a leader: Remember the lead sled dog is the only one with a decent view.
Never laugh at anyones dreams.
Believe in love at first sight.
When you feel terrific, notify your face.
Never be the first to break a family tradition.
Always try to keep up the important family traditions.
Dont judge people by their relatives.
Say bless you when you hear someone sneeze.
When opportunity knocks, invite it to stay for dinner.
Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, youll get to enjoy it a second time.
Thank those who protect our skies.
Hug a skinny dood
..
Hug an angel
..
Give thank to those who open the Finest door every morning with prayers, coffee, goodies and words of wisdom.
Remember to tell your "sistahs and brothas" how much they mean to you.
Remember to give thanks for our FINEST Friends
And always give thanks to FreeRepublic

The Miracle Goes On
Read: 2 Chronicles 30:21-27
Their voice was heard; and their prayer came up to His holy dwelling place, to heaven. 2 Chronicles 30:27
Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 19-20; Luke 23:1-25
Did you ever think of a prayer meeting as a miracle? That thought came to my mind one evening at church after we divided into small prayer groups. As someone in each group prayed, I heard several people talking to God at the same time. It sounded like a jumble of words. But that's the miracle. God was hearing each prayeralong with millions of others being lifted to Him around the world in many different languages.
For those of us who reach frustration levels when two children are talking to us at the same time, it is indeed a miracle that God can hear so many of His children simultaneously.
Consider the story of Hezekiah's Passover celebration. He called for the Israelites to join him in Jerusalem for praise and prayer (2 Chronicles 30:1). Multitudes came for what turned into a 2-week-long worship service. Huge numbers of people rejoiced and praised God at the same time (v.25). As the religious leaders prayed, "their voice was heard; and their prayer came up . . . to heaven" (v.27).
The miracle goes on. Today, throughout the world, millions of people are praying to God. Let's rejoice in knowing that He hears each prayer. Dave Branon
God hears us when we call to Him,
He does not miss one voice;
The knowledge that He always hears
Should cause us to rejoice. Sper
You'll never get a busy signal on the prayer line to heaven.
