Seems I just read a story regarding the spitting at soldiers returning from duty, and some journalist or commentator made the claim that there had been no documented case of that ever happening.

My brother's response was the topper to that. He just smiled at the asshole, and didn't even move to wipe his face.

It was almost surreal, because as a child you really don't understand the intricacies of war, etc. -- yet at that moment I knew in my heart the reason my brother served and I vowed that I too would serve our country.

Of course my father and brother both never let me live down the fact that I chose the Air Force and not the Army LOL!
