Window front on major street: "Victory to the Iraqi Resistance''

As U.S. troops engage radical Islamic insurgents in Iraq, passersby on a major thoroughfare near downtown Seattle this week will notice a sign in a window front that urges: "Victory to the Iraqi Resistance."
The sign appears on the New Freeway Hall Community Center on multi-ethnic Rainier Avenue, home of the local branch of the Freedom Socialist Party.
Luma Nichol, Seattle organizer of the party, told WorldNetDaily her group put up the sign because there has been a "distortion of the truth" about the Iraq war, and "we want to educate our neighbors."
She said the reaction to the sign, noted by a contributor to FreeRepublic.com, has been much more positive than negative.
"There is a lot of opposition to the war," she told WND. "A lot of people understand that what the U.S. government is doing is a hostile invasion that violates the sovereignty of the Iraqi people."
However, Tuesday, she said, a "not very eloquent person" telephoned and "called us all a bunch of fags, which is not very conducive to debate."
But some opponents would call wishing victory for an enemy of the United States an act of sedition, she acknowledged when asked.
"I'm sure there are some people that would see it that way, but the U.S. is the aggressor in this situation and in the wrong," she said.
"A people whose country is being invaded and colonized by a hostile force have a right to defend themselves that is what people did in World War II, and I stand on the side of the victims not the aggressors," Nichol declared.
She said she agrees with people who call the ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein a "dictator and vicious man."
"But I don't believe that the U.S. government wants to bring liberty and democracy to Iraq," she said. "They have their own agenda oil, making money for Halliburton and other firms. There is no evidence that the U.S. has the interest of the Iraqi people at heart."
It's up to the Iraqi people to deal with their own dictator, she asserted.
"How would you feel if somebody said Dick Cheney is a threat to democracy and invaded our country?"
Nichol explained her group is a "socialist, feminist political party" that has been active in the U.S. for more than 30 years. As part of the Trotskyist wing of communism, it is distinguished from the Communist Party U.S.A. she said, "calling for socialist democracy in opposition to Stalinism."
There isn't a country in the world that practices her party's model for government, she said, but Cuba comes the closest.

I swear to _____ if I were there I'd walk right in there and rip their damned poster right off the window, stamp on it a few times, and ask them what they were going to do about it. First one that came after me would get a most delicious knuckle sandwich they'd ever had served to them, with all the works. End of story.
The country is at war. This is seditious.
The people in that office that put that poster up (the 'victory to the enemy' one) ought to be shot or strung up.
On top of this, since these bastards are Trotsky-ites, they de-facto have no concept of "private property." That is public property therefore, and just as much my property as their's. So it's our duty to take it down.

A few weeks ago, just after the news broke about the brutal murder of the four civilian contractors in Iraq, one of my coworkers, a shameless liberal, came into the breakroom, almost dancing with glee. He came over to me and started into me about how he was right about Iraq being a deathtrap and that I didn't know what I was talking about when I tried to explain that this was a limited area in Central Iraq, where Saddam's followers are primarily concentrated.
I came within a heartbeat of putting my fist in his smug face, but instead I stood up and walked out of the room. A few minutes later, our store manager, who'd been in the breakroom at the time of our confrontation, came up to me, thanked me for my restraint, and assured me that he had an intense conversation with my antagonist, explaining to him that one of the women who was in the breakroom with us had a husband in Iraq as a civilian contractor and that she didn't know whether or not one of the slain men was her husband.
I haven't had a run-in with this guy since, but after losing a good friend in Iraq last week, he'd better not say anything to me.

How is it that in the United States where people have the freedom to get a formal education or even educate themselves, we have so many clueless idiots?
Just how the hell did she think the Iraqi people were going to deal with Saddam? I hope she doesn't breed.

In my father's day that sign would have lasted about 5 minutes and they would have found the person who put it up covered in tar and feathers and being ridden out of town on a rail.
I think we've become entirely too civilized. This crap has to stop. There is no reason to tolerate sidition.

Stonewall,
I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.
Luckily, most of my co-workers are conservatives like myself. There may be liberals here as well, but they know better than to get in my face like that. I don't have much in the way of restraint when it comes to this kind of stuff.
It's good you were able to restrain yourself. Punching someone in the workplace can be a career limiting move. Sounds like you have a great manager.
For the life of me I cannot understand some of these people. How can they cheer for the people that would just as soon kill them? Ignorance is all I can think of.
Again, please accept my condolences for the loss of your friend.

A sign stating "Capitalism is the Cause - War is the Effect" hung on the window of a
business adjacent to another sign that says "Rent this..."
Are these people making a run at the Onion's market share?

You would think that something could be done about people who openly side with the enemy during a time of war. I understand freedom of speech but during war this is treason. I also think the "fighting words" statute might be applicable and mitigate the consequences for anyone who would take personal action against these people.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I'm impressed by your restraint. Had I been there I would probably be in jail now for assault. I hope whatever the manager said to him caused the antagonist to think long and hard. Yeah I know, I'm probably dreaming.
As far as the above article goes. The whole thing is mind boggling. But this part: "socialist, feminist political party" is just over the top. They are not satisfied with being "socialist's". Nooo, that's not enough. They have to throw in the "feminist" as well. Talk about hitting rock bottom.
