I think we all need to hug one another.I am in sad shock....

I agree. We share in each others' joys, and then, on days like this one, our support for one another is even more evident and important as we share in our sorrows as well....

for the entire FReeper Canteen family

Marines inspect a vehicle in which the occupants were killed by U.S. soldiers after it broke through a checkpoint and fired on the soldiers in Fallujah, Iraq, on Thursday.

Rumors spread that the new driver license tests were difficult in Iraq, but few really give it serious consideration until it is their turn to go before the Marines new driver evaluation.

Marine Pfc. Todd Tviede, 20, of Huntington Beach, Fla., gestures as Cpl. Will McDermott, 20, of Phoneix, Ariz., places him in a headlock during a round of mock professional wrestling in Fallujah, Iraq, on Thursday. Both men are part of Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment.

Hey Moe, hey Moe, hey Larry, the cheese.

Pfc. Todd Tviede, with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, signals his victory during a round of mock professional wrestling in Fallujah, Iraq, on Thursday The company’s spirit seemed relaxed after it was announced that a deal recently struck paves the way for the Marines to leave Fallujah. Their security roles will be taken over by the newly formed Fallujah Protective Army..

After an intense firefight, the U.S. Marines traditionally like to engage in a bit of Do-Si-Do Square Dancing for relief.

Lance Cpl. Jeffrey W. Herman, from Broken Arrow, Okla., a missile gunner with the Combined Anti-Armor Team (CAAT), Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, scans through his thermal imagery system to spot any threats during a patrol in Iraq on Friday. The CAAT Marines are part of force protection for the 1st Force Service Support Group’s headquarters at Camp Taqaddum, Iraq.

Don't be surprised if some time, some where, some how, someone walks up to you and says, "Smile, here is a rocket up your butt!"

Lt. Col. Thomas Brewer shares a light moment with his daughter Kalee, 10, after he received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Lakota Warrior Award in a ceremony in Lincoln, Neb., on Wednesday. Brewer received the Bronze Star for bravery in action when he was pinned down and separated from his unit following an ambush in Afghanistan.

OK, I'll trade you my Bronze Star for Boardwalk, Park Place, and a great big hug.

Sgt. Ismael Garcia laughs as his daughter, Rossel-Joyce Garcia, 4, climbs on his back Wednesday at the California Army National Guard facility in Vallejo Calif., as he and other troops are welcomed home from Iraq.

Every Troop would like to engage in a bit of Rossel-Mania once in a while.

Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Joshua Taher fires a .50-caliber machine gun as Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Kevin Campo observes during a qualification live-fire exercise aboard the carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65) on Sunday. The Enterprise currently is underway in the Atlantic Ocean.

After several months in ordnance, the Enterprise's famed Holodeck is finally up and running again.

Capt. John Serafini, a Ranger from Joint Security Area Korea, attempts to land in the drop zone during the spot-jump portion of the 2004 Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning, Ga., on Friday. The competition started in 1981 with the goal of creating a contest that would place extreme demands on the teams’ physical, mental, and technical abilities as Rangers.

Sailors aboard the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65) “man the rails” on Monday as they prepare to moor at Port Everglades, Fla., for Fleet Week, an annual celebration to thank the country’s sea-going personnel for their dedicated service.

Boy were some of the guys feeling embarrassed when they all showed up to meet their blind dates wearing the same outfits.

Hospital corpsmen deployed aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) work together to pull a victim out of the water and into a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) during Search and Rescue (SAR) training. Kennedy is finishing up final preparations for a scheduled six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea.

For the first time ever due to a navigational mishap the Dominos pizza delivery took longer than 30 minutes.

Just another day at the office for our Troops.

Thanks Fawnn. I am sure we all could use a hug right now. It has been an emotional couple of weeks around here. There must be a purpose for it all. Right now it is hard to see it and to have faith though.

I always try to remember it is times like this that I need to have more faith then ever before.

My prayers for our troops, who have a very hard job to do- and for all of the families who are hurting over the loss of a loved one right now.

I will keep faith for them tonight.

Prayers of comfort and Peace are coming your way.

May God welcome these beautiful souls home.

For those who suffer,

and those who cry this night,

give them repose, Lord;

a pause in their burdens.

Let there be minutes

where they experience peace,

not of man

but of angels.

Love them, Lord,

when others cannot.

Hold them, Lord,

when we fail with human arms.

Hear their prayers

and give them the ability to hear You back

in whatever language they best understand.

God knows it's so hard sometimes to remember that He cares.

Agnieszka and Magda are with Him. And through Him, we will meet those we knew and loved, again.
