C-Span NOT Covering Biggest News in Washington Today -- U.N. Oil For Food Bombshell
Posted on 04/28/2004 5:31:55 AM PDT by Stultis
Henry Hyde's Committee on International Relations has hearings today on the corruption in the Iraq Oil-For-Food program. A former program coordinator well testify that high officials at the U.N. knew about kickbacks and other corruption in the program and did nothing.
C-Span is not carrying this hearing live, NOR HAVE THEY SCHEDULED CAMERAS TO BE PRESENT.
The only hope to change this is to massively flood their phone lines immediately (politely) demanding they cover this. The hearing starts in less than 3 hours!

C-span2 had some kind of liberal Democratic Congressmen and Senators lovefest on a bit ago...arranged at tables like they were having a hearing rather than a free media bonanza.
Hitlery, et al, were there nodding their heads in solemn agreement with whichever one was getting free face time at the moment.
Yuck!

Is CSPAN biased? Cuz whenever i've seen it, and grant you that isn't often, i've noticed how the hosts bend over backwards not to impose their own opinions into the discussion.

This is on C-SPAN's schedule for tomorrow. Obviously not the actual hearings, but it's a start. Maybe they'll show the full hearings later. The time is EDT:
07:45 am 0:45 (est.) LIVE Call-In Iraq Oil-for-Food Program C-SPAN, Washington Journal Nile Gardiner , Heritage Foundation

This is a UN issue; CSPAN mission is coverage of US political process..... Henry Hyde and the House committee actually, not a UN one per say.

To: Stultis
The UN and the Demorat party are tied together. The dems run most of the media. So what is bad for the UN is bad for the dems. Don't look for any coverage anywhere but a few vast right-wing location's.

I agree with the Freeper News hour concept. I've been assessing the media recently, and one problem with FoxNews is that they strive to be balanced in an environment of clearly liberal competition.
This is the result of 30 years of liberal stranglehold on the Big Media. Call it Right Guilt , much like white guilt. It has programmed conservatives to believe we must always accomodate the Left. The Left has no similar impulse.
Even Dennis Miller works to balance out his guests, in some misguided attempt to soothe the MSNBC muckymucks. What is now needed is an unapologetic conservative show, FreeperNews if you will, that blasts the loony libs with the ridicule they deserve.
Since 9/11, the "culture" has chosen to push back hard on a host of issues: religion, patriotism, Iraq, gay marriage, treason, race baiting, class warfare, abortion... you see the desperation in their tactics.
Now is the time, this summer, for a tough new TV show, or a hilarious but scathing send-up of the panicky left, revealing their crazy conspiracy theories and blind hatreds. Imagine the fun.
Fox, or any other networks: are you lurking? Gamble one hour weekly on this concept, you could hit a viewership jackpot that will fill your pockets and change the American debate forever.
Done with wit and without apology, this show will be GIANT. I called it here, today. (for the record)

To answer your Q. YES I think they are biased, I watched the morn. call in show for years and it finally hit me when Clinton was in office, they rarely had an opposing opinion, just one guy or woman, to praise him, they made sure not many conservative callers got thru.

only honesty, prolife, believing in GOD, etc. is a criminal offense. In Canada this is becoming literally true, as new hate crimes legislation nears passage. It would effectively put the Bible into a hate-speech category for its condemnation of homosexuality. World Net Daily (wnd.com) has a link to an article on its website that gives the details. We can't say that Orwell didn't warn us!
