"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

Maybe if we'd take the darned gloves off and quit playing politically correct; maybe if we had the guts to fight this like a war, and not try and please everyone in the US who has no clue of the brutality we are facing; maybe just maybe if these idiots were afraid of the US, if they had some respect for us. Maybe THEN they would stop killing us.
Anyone who doubts that the Islamic world respects strength not weakness needs look no farther back that January 1981. After holding US diplomats and servicemen hostage in our embassy in Tehran; after over a year of Jimmy Carter trying to negotiate and even on occasion trying to act tough; Ronald Reagan's inauguration began.
Reagan made it clear that he was going to kick some Islamic butt when he took office. The powers that be in Tehran believed him. Before the inauguration was complete, the hostages cleared Iranian airspace on their way home.
We need to learn from our history. How much clearer can it be?
Negotiating + terrorists = more terrorists
kicking butt + terrorists = less terrorism
Sorry - today I am angry - not at anyone here on the thread - but at the direction this world is going in. We're more concerned about some lady soldier laughing and pointing at a terrorists private parts than we are about the bodies of 4 more American contracts being found tortured and desecrated in a shallow grave in Iraq, or about the murder of a woman and her 4 young daughters and her unborn son in Gaza.
There's something wrong here.

Have you heard anything more about the LA-Dulles flight threat/watching thing going on? They've been talking a lot about it on KNX, pretty much alternating between that and the fire updates whenever they do the news updates at least mentioning pretty much what was posted late last night (or really early this morning?)...but there wasn't anything new.
I was actually really surprised how much they've been mentioning it (although yet to say anything so far at 12:10 or so on KFMB news at noon) as they seem to bury this type of stuff these days...
Of course they aren't including anything about all the other strange airport stuff happening recently...guess that might add up for bad news for the airlines going into the summer travel time if people start piecing things together like we are finding here.
Very interested to see if the LA news in the next day or so is still talking about the LAX-IAD flight and if the # of passengers changes much now that it's getting publicity.

But no new news has come out since the inital report, right?
Do you happen to know if there's a thread about it? Maybe we've got someone on FR who's been on that flight recently...? Would be interesting to hear if passengers noticed anything as far as extra security for them, as well, before this story came out.

"The Palestinian murderers weren't satisfied with spraying the car with gunfire - they came up and shot each of the children repeatedly in the head. The baby was still in her car seat. After killing the mother they shot her in the belly so that they would be sure the unborn baby died too. These are little kids - 11, 9, 7, and 2. And yes, I'm mad as hell about it!"That is too horrible for words. The people that did this deserve to be tortured and killed. They are savages, that should not be allowed to remain on this earth!!!!!
I understand the Israeli's took out the radio station and I imagine the perpetrators of this despicable act will meet the devil soon.

"Negotiating + terrorists = more terrorists kicking butt + terrorists = less terrorism"Amen to that.
the only thing the scumbags understand is fear of someone stronger than them. They have gained bravado from recent wins ie: Madrid bombing and pullouts of 3-4 countries from Iraq and some skirmishes in Iraq Fallujah (they use our pullback as a victory) and Najaf (can't go in there because of the holy mosques) which by the way are stockpiled with weapons.

I really wanted to see the big Leonid showers in 2000 and 2001. My work responsibilities prevented taking the 8 hour drive option to get away from the San Diego clouds. I watched the 1989 Perseids from the California desert area north of Brawley. Spectacular. The PacBell strike duty put me in just the right spot. I enticed my wife to Palomar Mountain a few year later for another Perseids show. That was great too. It was the last "great" meteor shower that I've enjoyed in recent years. We did have a nice green aurora here in southern Idaho last summer. It followed a series of X class flares. I still haven't enjoyed the multi-colored shimmering curtain types of aurora yet.
