"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

TRAIN DERAILMENT 28APR DALLAS [DIFFERENT]
TRAIN DERAILMENT
(DALLAS, April 28) -- Investigators with Union Pacific are looking into what caused a train to derail in Dallas. The train jumped the tracks in south Dallas overnight. Some of the cars were carrying flammable liquids. One car was leaking but it has been contained. As of early Wednesday morning, crews were working to pull the derailed cars out of a ditch. Investigators believe something may have been wrong with the track.

DU (Depleted Uranium) danger is one of the biggest Junk Science stories out there. Radiologically it is virtually harmless. As a heavy metal, like any other, it is definitely something you should avoid contact (inhale/ingest) with.

The American economy is taking a massive hit due to the continuing cost of detecting and preventing additional attacks by radical Muslims. Pardon me if I don't give a rats ass about incidents of "alleged" harassment.
I have to endure real harassment every single time I depart on a commercial airline flight. It is due entirely to the chain of events initiated by radical Muslims.

Indie, it is a lovely dream, but it would be a mistake to attempt to make it work.
The most that you could hope for, would be to live in a community that already contained folks of like mind.
Maybe 30 years ago, it was attempted and was working, for a mildly high fee, you leased an acre and all the folks worked well together and it looked good.
The man who dreamed it up died and his wife brought in a new man, who wanted bunkers of guns, took on the BLM over some road and broke the whole commune up.
The retired couple that I knew had been happy there, until the new man arrived, they had guns, but were not interested in enough ammo for a war.
If you are the leader, then you will soon attract followers as the clintons do. As a follower, then the clintons will soon arrive and take over.
I discovered 50 years ago, that if I liked the husband, then I wouldn't be able to stand the wife or the other way around.
I don't do well with women, they tell me what ______the husband is and I tell them to get a divorce.
It has always bored me to tears to talk to the average wife, the men always talked mining, mechanics or building and that was what I wanted to learn. I started keeping house and taking care of 4 kids at 9 years old, as well as a couple years later, going to the field to drive a tractor all day.
But don't give up your dream, when you do, then you join me.
Waiting for the big sleep.
All my life, I had big dreams and I did get my place in the hills at the end of the road, then I got sick and couldn't keep it, but it was wonderful while it lasted.
75 acres with 2 volcanoes and the biggest rattlesnakes in Arizona. So quiet that you could think and no neighbors, it was in the Black Mountains near Oatman.
If you are living in town now, go and get a country place, we started in Arizona, in 1970, Bill was sick and we had a travel trailer, doctor said it would be nice if you could take him to the desert. That I could do, as I had a 8 acre lot that I had bought years before as an investment.
We slept outdoors, hauled water and had a ball.
Instead of dying, he lived another 30 years.
Dreams, they are the cream of this life.
Hugs,

While searching for more information about the person who died yesterday of hantavirus, I found this article about a train derailment.
Was this train derailment reported earlier? Don't recall reading it.
Bear Night Patrol
Author: Adam Hudson
Date: 4/29/04
Crews are working to ward off bears attracted to spilled corn from last week's train derailment.
Wind River Bear Institute specialists are conducting night patrols to keep bears away as crews continue to clean up hundreds of tons of spilled corn just east of Essex.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe contracted the institute after last Tuesday in which a freight train carrying corn from Iowa to Washington derailed and 29 cars emptied their contents.
....
...all of the derailed cars have been taken to Shelby to be scrapped. The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.

Am I the only one that remembers the track shoes that were stolen from a train company?
When this thread was new, several months ago, it was posted.
As I recall, it was clumps of iron that bolted to the tracks and would stop the train.
Maybe partial memory isn't so handy after all...LOL

Here is my favorite link for
Space Weather. It contains a summary at the top, traces of X-ray burst intensity and a measure of proton/electron stream intensity. The K-index stuff on the bottom indicates geomagnetic storm impacts on satellites. When the K-index gets into the 9 or 10 range, I can count on seeing a fairly nice aurora in Idaho. There is a link for that too.
If you see an M to X class flare, there will be about a 2 to 3 day lag before the geomagnetic storm particles impacts the earth's magnetosphere. If the flare tosses an earth directed coronal mass ejection, the prospects for a good aurora improve...along with a bad night to watch your DishNet or DirectTV movies. The impact of the particles is evidenced by a sharp shift in the GOES Hp trace. Protons tend to rise and the electron measurements become invalid owing to "poisoning" of the detectors by the masssive volumes of protons. The energetic mass strikes the magnetosphere and deforms it. Some of the particle mass just impacts the earth and stays. It is my theory that this energetic mass contributes to increased intensity in an ongoing weather system and increased volcanic/magma movement. Just theory, but fairly repeatable observations.

When I work on an open train line, there are "derail devices", "torpedoes" and flags placed well down the track. The flags are visual warnings. The "torpedoes" are like giant firecrackers that are set off when the locomotive rolls over them. Any competent locomotive engineer is constantly watching flags and listening for the Pow! Pow! from the torpedoes. If that doesn't get the guys attention, the derail device will certainly keep him from running you down.
It would be very easy to maliciously employ the derail devices.
