Ok, let's follow this:
Kerry says medals and ribbons are interchangeable.
Kerry votes to throw his medals over the fence.
Kerry doesn't have his medals with him, but he has his ribbons with him.
Kerry doesn't go home to get his medals, but he has his ribbons with him.
Kerry throws his ribbons over the fence.
Kerry throws 2 medals from other men over the fence.
Years later, Kerry says he didn't throw his medals over the fence.
Years later (today on GMA) Kerry says ribbons and medals represent the same thing.
Years later (today on GMA) Kerry says he threw ribbons but not his medals but the medals of two other guys over the fence but he is proud of his medals that he didn't throw over the fence because he didn't go home and get his medals then, even though he voted to toss them, but he had his ribbons which represent medals so he threw them, the ribbons, over the fence.
How dare you question his patriotism??????!!!!????

I said on another thread that Kerry is toast.
Another Freeper (bcoffey) corrected me.
French toast.
I stand corrected.

From a Drudge transcript of the interview, giving a classic example of "are you going to believe me or you're lying eyes?"
GIBSON: senator, i was there 33 years ago and i saw you throw medals over the fence and we didn't find out until later -
KERRY: no, you didn't see me throw, charlie, charlie, you are wrong. that's not what happened.

The Kerry meltdown is even 'funner' to watch than the Dean meltdown was.

Kerry is a real pr*ck. He has been a waffling, cynical douche bag since the doctor slapped him on the a$$. He was discgraceful on GMA this morning--I don't know how anybody could vote for this lying, condescending, un-American stooge. Kerry is a real low life.

I couldn't sleep because of allergies. I'm glad I got to witness this.
Here's the response from the Rat Hole (Buyer's remorse and it isn't even election day.):
I'm half cringing waiting to hear what he says tomorrow. Kerry should consider NOT flaunting this subject; flaunting it calls for a more detailed look.
(sarcastically:) When Kerry changes his mind, he's an unexcusable and absolute liar who isn't fit to be president.
Lying in a manner designed to lower morale of Americans at home and in troops during wartime is TREASON as it provides aid and comfort to the enemy. Axis Sally was sentenced for her actions after WWII. Lord Haw Haw was executed.
People do not like someone who shades the truth or is a liar. Kerry has to change his style or he will be badly beaten in 2004. I'm not sure it really matters since once you become a hero you can't throw away that fact.
Benedict Arnold was an American Hero. He is also known for his betrayal of America and aid to the enemy.
Traitor and hero are not mutually exclusive concepts but TRAITOR does significantly impact any "heroic" status. This is what I get looking at Rat droppings for some signs of wisdom.

Obscured by all the medals / ribbons hoopla is just how radical and anti-American this event actually was. Click
here for a video clip of the "throw your medals and denounce your country" lineup in which Kerry participated (5.8MB). More Vietnam Veterans Against the War clips, documents and flyers are available

Lehman could answer a lot of questions on this citation issue if he wants to. He's one of the few Republicans that showed any flashes of cajones as a 911 commissioner (comparatively speaking only, of course).
I doubt if he'll shed any light on the subject because the commissioners "don't want to be partisan or political" (of course, the only ones adhering to this policy are the Republicans).
Life can be so frustrating.....

The Fundamental Lie About The Medals
The Kerry interview on "Good Morning America" provided a barrel of laughs, as he twisted and contorted his past and current statements into dimensions physicists can only postulate about.
Some salient samples of his statements:
In 1971, Kerry was asked if he gave back the Bronze Star, Silver Star and three Purple Hearts he was awarded for combat duty as a Navy lieutenant in Vietnam. "Well, and above that, [I] gave back the others. I gave back, I can't remember, 6, 7, 8, 9 medals," " he said.
But years later, trying to gain a patriotic union's endorsement, he stated, "No, I didn't throw the medals away."
And this last Friday, asked about throwing away his medals, he said "I never ever implied that I did it."
When Charlie Gibson told him that he himself was there and saw Kerry throwing medals, Kerry then scrambled to say, "I threw my ribbons over. I threw the medals of two veterans who asked me to throw them over, after the ceremony."
But then he trips himself up again: "We threw away the symbols of what our country gave us for what we had gone through....you know, ribbons, medals were absolutely interchangeable."
These statements merely illustrate the brazen and petty nature of this presumptive nominee's lies. After all, ribbons are pieces of cloth and medals are little pieces of metal, with no intrinsic significance. Their significance instead lies in what they symbolize - honor, bravery and/or sacrifice in service to this country. And there's no doubt in any of his earlier statements, that he renounced and denounced what these ribbons/medals signified, by publicly throwing either the ribbons or medals away in front of the White House. "We threw away the symbols of the war. I'm proud I stood up and fought, stood up and fought against it."
However, those miraculously recovered medals are now ostentatiously framed in his Senate office, "I'm proud of my medals, he says, "I always was proud of them", and this is the fundamental lie of this sorry episode.
