ARKANSAS SOLDIERS ATTACKED IN IRAQ
KTHV ^
Posted on 04/24/2004 1:48:44 PM PDT by Arkinsaw
Today's THV has confirmed reports Saturday that members of Arkansas' 39th Brigrade were attacked at their camp 15 miles north of Baghdad.
Captain Kristine Munn with the Arkansas Army National Guard would only say that it was a rocket attack and could not confirm or deny if any Arkansas soldiers were killed or injured.
U.S. military officials are reporting four U.S. soldiers were killed in that attack and six soldiers were wounded.
Today's THV will, of course, continue to follow this story and have more information as the names of those soldiers are released

From his previous posts, the base that was attacked is his present location.

There is a group from the Arizona National Guard at Al Taji as well. We just heard from one of our friends yesterday. I'm checking the DOD board to see who was killed but the information probably won't be posted until tomorrow. It ususally takes 2 days before the info is up.

Someone tell them ol' boys that hunting season is closed on Iraqis and the limit is two in your possession per year, however they taste great grilled with beans and cornbread.
The herd will be thinned post-haste.

There are soldiers from Oregon, and some other smaller elements from other states (New Mexico, Connecticut, etc.) that have been attached to the 39th also I believe.

I just got an email from my best friend verifying that he was not involved personally. He could not say anything else. I probably will not hear anything about my other friend until Monday. I can go to bed now at 5:00 am anyway. Its going to be a long year.
