Kerry: Vulgar, profane and arrogant
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | April 23, 2004 | Kevin McCullough

Posted on 04/23/2004 12:18:33 PM PDT by Jacob Kell

The most recent polls produced by CNN-Gallup and ABC-Washington Post had the pundits scratching their heads. How could President Bush be opening his biggest lead on Sen. John Kerry when his primetime press conference had been – in their eyes – "a dismal failure," and the issues in Iraq had raged on?

We voters were told Bush had "bumbled his way across our TV screens." We were told Iraq had become "a bogged down disaster." Michael Moore even wrote on his website that the contractors doing the rebuilding in Iraq were "mercenaries," and the terrorist insurgents killing our kids weren't terrorists, but "The REVOLUTION," "that their numbers were growing" and that "they would win."

So what gives?

My observation is simple: As the American people are getting to know John Kerry, they just don't like him. And as Kerry – who Peggy Noonan referred to this week "a sad, hollow tree" – runs headlong through his campaign schedule, I believe he hits on all the wrong buttons. The American people aren't stupid, yet we feel John Kerry treats us as though we are.

Some examples ...

Early on in his campaign, John Kerry granted an interview to Rolling Stone magazine. Using the "F" word with all the grace and dignity the American listener can stomach, Kerry repeatedly cursed the very policy of holding Iraq accountable – that he had voted for. This flip-floppery continues to this day as is so well captured by Bush campaign commercials.

But the nation was patient and generous. Perhaps after we got to see his "softer side," we would be able to like him personally.

Then he went on his ski vacation and so memorably cursed out the Secret Service agent who was there to take a bullet on his behalf. The reason? Simply because the senator ran into him and got a bit of snow on himself. OK ... scratch personal likeability off the list.

This was followed by his invention of a group of international leaders who looked him in the imaginary eye and told him in his imaginary ear that he "must win this thing." An easily provable false claim that he continues to repeat even as recently as this past Sunday.

But add to that list the fact he told members of a labor union (when he believed his microphone to be off) that this administration was the biggest bunch of crooks and liars he'd ever seen.

Sen. Kerry – the "sad, hollow tree" of honesty – also questioned President Bush's well documented time in the National Guard and demanded the 30-year-old service records of the president be made public. However, when he was asked if his service records would be madepublic, first he claimed they already were, and now his campaign says that only portions of them can be released.

But this last week on NBC's "Meet the Press" might have taken the cake for why people don't care for John Kerry. He's arrogant.

Tim Russert pulled out a video clip of John Kerry admitting he had committed atrocities in Vietnam. He claimed in the clip he had burned villages to the ground, conducted search and destroy missions, and using his 50-caliber machine gun killed innocents in the process.

It astounds me that someone who can even admit doing such things can make a serious run for president. Though Kerry says in the clip that "thousands of other Vietnam veterans did the same exact things." (Thousands committed atrocities?)

The answer to Tim Russert's question should have given insight into a serious and reflective and compassionate man. Russert asked, "YOU ... committed atrocities?"

Kerry's response was a knee-slapping joke, "Where did all of that dark hair go, Tim, that's the important question for me ... (laughter trails off)." With behavior like this, it's easy to understand why people might see Kerry as more arrogant than President Bush.

And according to this week's ABC News-Washington Post poll, they do.

Lets be careful here. This guy is almost as easy as the good Doctor was (YEEEEAAAAHHHHH). We NEED him to get the nomination. If he is piled upon too much before the convention, the rats may look elsewhere - like maybe Hitlery. As much as I can't stand the witch, she presents a much more formidable foe than JF'nK. I know there are many on this board that swear up and down that it will never happen. If it is apparent by the convention that he is a dead horse (as opposed to just looking like a dead horse), they would be foolish not to look elsewhere.

At that moment I thought Kerry might have lost the election.

Add to this his class warfare strategies while he lives in several multi-million dollar homes.

Kerry's wives are both multi-millionaires so he knows how to screw the rich.

A person who has any basic morals and is of sound mental health would be devastated when remembering the acts or the testimony when speaking of such terrible things. This puffy interview is quite telling of two things:

1. If Kerry actually did these things he alleged he did in Vietnam, then he has absolutely no sense of guilt and may have a serious mental condition or a complete (not just because he's leftist) lack of moral bearing. This is evident by his complete lack of guilt and making jokes about it. The only other people who do this are serial killers and those with extreme disassociative disorders.

2. If Kerry is mentally sound, then this joking response helps disprove his own testimony 33 years ago.

Sorry, Johnny Kerry, which is it? Are you a psycopathic killer with no morals who thinks committing atrocities is funny or are you a liar, perjurer, disgrace, and traitor who gave false testimony in order to kill more of your fellow soldiers and increase the moral of our enemies? Either way, Mr Kerry, you have no right to hold any office with those qualifications.

The problem with John Kerry is that he watched too many liberal-Hollyweird Vietnam movies, and is convinced that every Vietnam Vet was a war criminal, just like him.

But it is simply not true. Not every Vietnam Vet burned down villages or lashed out in "free fire" zones. Mr Kerry - you were an OFFICER! You were an EDUCATED military man. Even in the heat of the Vietnam conflict, YOU have NO EXCUSE for committing crimes against the people of Vietnam!

Actually, I believe that particular story.

Remember the thread about an interview made some years ago with Kerry, where he was watching again, and again a video of a reenactment of the time he shot a wounded Vietnamese soldier and earned his silver star?

Does that sound normal?

I don't care if he becomes a candidate as long as he is trounced by President Bush. But if, by some unfortunate accident, he would win, then God help us all.

Don't remember it, but people who dwell on things like that do NOT need to be in charge of our nuclear arsenal!!!

Putting the Democrats in power is kinda like electing the characters of Dr Strangelove.....

Lets be careful here.

Sound thinking and good strategy. It's also like trying to hold back the tide with your hands.

As the longtime potters busily molding public opinion, they face the dawn of their own irrelevancy...and can't quite grasp the Big Picture. Brokenjaw has seen it coming...he's going to heave the anchor away in December...

Will he really be chosen as Dem candidate?

No, he's the demoncRATs throwaway candidate.
He'll be forced to withdraw within the week before their commie convention.
Comrade Hillary will be "drafted to save the party."
They think she's the only one who can defeat the evil Bush.

Let not your heart be troubled. If hillary rod'em clinton were to run against Bush she would be resoundingly defeated. How do I know this? Picture the average voter imagining her being sworn in on Inaguration Day with bill rubbing his hands together in the background....

In the clip, he was describing the "atrocities" as

"participating in free fire zones,
using 50 caliber machine guns,
burning villages..."

can't remember the rest - but no reference to anything specifically gruesome.

I don't care if he becomes a candidate as long as he is trounced by President Bush.

The Dems won against Bush Sr. with a draft-dodger and anti-U.S. war protestor. They must now figure that running an actual traitor will vault them to victory over G.W.

Trouble is, the draft-dodger was elected TWICE! If the traitor wins this time (and the poll numbers are actually CLOSE), it may be the last time we have Presidential elections here...

The Bush/Cheney camp needs to run clips of that insensitive, calloused comment in their political ads in the battleground states about 50 million times.

The interview was strange as Kerry seemed to be trying to have the atrocities issue both ways (classic Kerry): He claims he overstated the atrocities by using an "angry" word (atrocities) and he shouldn't have said it that way and is sorry he hurt fellow soldiers...but oh, yes, the atrocities really did happen!
