:'(
Eternal rest grant unto him, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace...
This Cardinal was a patriot....

Here are the lyrics--it's called Just a Few Questions.
How in this World
Can we put a man on the moon
and still have a need for a place like St.Judes
And why is one man born in a place where all they know is war
And a guy like me has always been free
And how can two people who've built a lovin' home
Try for years and never have a child of their own
And somewhere out there tonight
There's a baby no ones holdin' tight
In need of love to me that don't add up
Chorus
But I wasn't there the day
You filled up the ocean
I didn't get to see you hang the stars in the sky
So I don't mean to second guess you
Or criticize what I don't understand
These are just a few questions I have
Why did my cousin have to die in that crash
A good kid only 17
I still wonder about that
It seems unfair to me
Some get the chance to chase their dreams
And some don't
But what do I know
(chorus)
Why do I feel like you hear these prayers of mine
When so many otta be ahead of me in line
When you look down on me
Can you see the good through all the bad
These are just a few questions I have
*** You really need to hear it--it's the thing that comes the closest to making sense of this morning's terrible news.

This hurts. Contribution to FreeRepublic made in his memory.

Re.
"Tillman and his brother served with elite rangers in Iraq Will Receive ESPY Courage Award." Who is ESPN to give a award to the Tillmans? Both Tillmans, are so far above pro-sports, their shelping advertisers, illiterate Escalade driving players, and mentally arrested fans, that the award can only be seen as a ESPN delusion, at best.

Just awful. May God be with his loved ones.

Not only that, but all NFL teams should put his number on their jersey and/or helmets. Perhaps naming an NFL public service award as well?

Killed in the line of duty, April 22, 2004.
TAPS
Day is done,
gone to the sun
from the lakes, from the hills,
from the sky.
All is well, safely rest.
God is high.
Thanks and praise,
for our days
'neath the sun, 'neath the stars,
'neath the sky,
As we go, this we know,
God is nigh.
~ ~
God bless the Tillman family.

"They're all great." Ditto and Amen. Prayers for his family, loved ones, and friends. This tears our hearts out because we know something of his personal story, but they all have their stories and each one of them is a part of us because we are Americans and because they are doing this for all of us. God bless them and their families. I pray for them every day, and thank them from the bottom of my heart.
