The below quote is very fitting at this time. It fits the sacrifice Pat Tillman has made.
"The man who will go where his colors will go, without asking, who will fight a phantom foe in a jungle and mountain range, without counting, and who will suffer and die in the midst of incredible hardship, without complaint, is still what he has always been, from Imperial Rome to sceptered Britain to Democratic America. He is the stuff of which legions are made. His pride is his colors and his regiment, his training hard and thorough and coldly realistic, to fit him for what he must face, and his obedience is to his orders. As a legionary, he held the gates of civilization for the classical world...he has been called United States Marine." (In Pat Tillman's case; a Ranger)
- LtCol T.R. Fehrenbach -

We honor his sacrifice. Pat Tillman has set an example that will inspire countless others, and his death will not have been in vain.

I haven't heard it on other news yet and MSNBC does have a reputation for getting things wrong. They first announced Martha Stewart found Not Guilty. I pray they are wrong here.

Aw crap...
Every death is hard, but it hurts a little more when you know who the person is.
RIP...

10 million of them aren't worth one of him. I really hate the people of that region--it's unavoidable. They are so rancid.

RIP Pat..you did us proud!

Since the original news stories about his giving up his Cardinal's career to serve as a Ranger, I've often thought of him as a true patriot, but hadn't heard another story in all this time .. this is not the story I wanted to hear. God bless a true American hero. And may God comfort his family.

Trolling liberal boards, I see that the libs are already blaming President Bush. They belong in hell.
Tillman should be held up as a good example to our youth but sadly I don't think it's going happen in today's world.

Amen to that. I just talked to a young man in our town who is getting called back to active with the Marine Corps, special operations capable type. He's ready to do his duty no regrets or bitterness. God Bless them all.

I bet he's a lot happier dying for something he believed in rather than blowing his knee out in the NFL and being a sportscaster the rest of his life. God Bless him.

I vaguely remember Bidwell was extort a new stadium out of Phoenix for the Cardinals; perhaps instead of BigGiantCorp Stadium it could be Tillman stadium (fat chance of that, I suspect.)

God rest this valiant and couragous soul and comfort all of his loved ones.
God grant that such a spirit will reside in rich abundance here in America...in all of us.
Such a story should be shouted from the rooftops and drown out all of the nay-sayers and those who are opposed to liberty. This is the price that has been paid though the last two hundred years for all of our liberty. I pray we can always remain worthy of such a price...the best blood of our generation.

And truly wonderful, thoughtful men like David Bloom and Michael Kelly are lost, while blame America first journalists make it home alive. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

I couldn't believe this. He turned down a 3 year $3.6 million contract to join the Army Rangers.
God bless him and his family. He's a real hero.
