[history]
The military records that Sen. John Kerry posted on his Web site yesterday raise new questions about the actions he took to earn several prestigious war medals and whether he deserved them.
The Navy awarded Mr. Kerry three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star and a Bronze Star in just four months of commanding a gunboat along rivers in Vietnam. It's an extraordinary record, say many veterans, and one that raises questions on its face.

Someone upstairs flowered up his report for him with that comment about a wound to the buttocks. Doesn't that really read that he was a pain in the ass?

(John Kerry? America just can't afford a 9/10 President in a 9/11 world. Vote Bush-Cheney '04.)

LMAO! Lucky us that Superman Kerry has deigned to run and wants to 'lead' our country...
To: The Bandit
What? They don't jibe? No kidding... (eyeroll)
And a special thanks to 'Sharpie' for helping with all the pre-release editing...
Another great Steyn article. Thanks!

I've had more serious injuries than his trying to reach 18. Where do I go for my purple heart?
To: vandykelastone
Requesting a purple heart is apparently a kind of "honor system" thing. An honorable man would not request a medal reserved for being "wounded" in action for a scratch or a briuse. An honorable man would know that he would not deserve a purple heart for such a wound.
J F'n Kerry did request 3 purple hearts for 3 little owies of the kind his children would get any day on the school playground.
What does that tell you about Kerry?

"I would hope his medical records don't jive." I, too, be hopin' dat his ospital recors not be jivin'. We don't need no mo jive-ass ospital meckul recors.
Did the Washington Thymes actually use "jive" instead of "jibe?"

I wasn't comfortable with opening Vietnam era records and was furious with the furor over W's records that forced him to do a COMPLETE records dump.
JF'nK brought this on himself by his CONSTANT bleating about his war record and his using former crew memebers as tour 'roadies'. It now appears that Kerry has dishonored himself, fellow Viet era vetrans, and the medals award process.

His Fitness Reports show that the command did not have any confidence in him. Since he was an officer instead of an enlisted they gave him some medals and shipped his butt out of the command, before he got someone killed.

The word is "jibe," not "jive." Actually, it looks as though the records don't jibe, but they ARE jive.
To: The Bandit
Welcome, Newbie. Just an FYI: When posting an article, DO NOT change the title. The title of this article WAS "Records on medals spark questions" but you changed it and in the process incorrectly used the word "jive."

I cherish the two purple hearts that my grandmother entrusted to me before she died. They were awarded posthumously to my two uncles who were killed in WWII. I know how my grandmother felt about those metals. She would not have thrown them over any wall for any reason. The taste I'm beginning to get in my mouth concerning Mr. Kerry's war record makes me want to spit.

I went to Kerry's site (while holding my nose) and read all the posted records and by God, he is something!
He's George Washington, John Paul Jones, Ulysses S Grant, Audie Murphy, 'Bull' Halsey and a little John Wayne all rolled into one. It's now understandable why he turned down the MOH - given his modesty.
As such, I can only conclude that the presidency is beneath him - he should be on Mount Olympus!
You know I'm lying about the MOH and am being SARCASTIC, don't you?

He did that long before his records release, like when he formed VVAW and "Testified" before congress.

The Washington Times isn't the Washington ComPost. I'm shocked that anyone would question John Kerry's patriotism.
Did you know he served in Vietnam?

To: The Bandit
But the citation for the Bronze Star that he was awarded for the same action described "his arm bleeding and in pain," saying nothing about arm bruises or shrapnel wounds anywhere.Just show the scars for all these wounds.
Why won't anyone ask to see the scars?
