Good God, now 9/11 is Reagan's fault?

As long as we're at it, why don't we keep digging? A pretty compelling case can be made that it's actually Jimmy Carter's fault. After all, it was his July 3, 1979 directive* that authorized covert aid to the Islamic Militant Network fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan, and his National Security Adviser who said, "What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?**"

Sheesh. Next thing you know, they'll be blaming 9/11 on Nixon.

I trust the judgement of the majority of eleigible voters who show up at the polls this November to figure out first the blame part, then that aside which party is more likely to keep us safe in the coming years.

Current poll tracking is showing that those undecideds who are currently paying attention are starting to move away from Kerry.

Actually Mr. O'Mara, Jimmy Carter is to blame for 9/11 because he turned his head in Iran and allowed Muslim extremists to take over the country and spread their poison across the world.

Carter also cut off aid to the Ayahtolla's in Iran causing the overthrow of the Shah who was friendly to the US.

even poorly trained security people would have found those box cutters.

And even the best trained security people would have allowed them on the plane with them because IT WAS LEGAL TO TAKEN THEM ON THE PLANE!

an item banned by FAA in 1994 from secure areas

NOT TRUE! Blades of 4 inches or less were perfectly legal to carry onto a plane.

Don't you know that 9/11 is Reagan's fault and Papa Bush's fault? Dems and Libs want to blame anyone execpt the terrorist who concocted and executed the plan that killed thousands.

If FAA had followed Billie Vincent's advice in 1991, even poorly trained security people would have found those box cutters.

Nope. It was LEGAL to have a box cutter. Just as it was legal for me to carry on my Leatherman tool, or some scissors, etc etc. By the way I wonder if this moron knows Al Gore ( the Smartest Man in the World) had proposed more stingent security measures, only to REMOVE them from the final document after a very HEFTY DONATION to the DNC from the airlines, lead by a lobbyist who's last name was DASCHLE. DEAL WITH IT.

And what if they had? Weren't they legal carry-on items at the time?

Gee...last time I checked, Al Gore headed an airline security task force that could've made what ever revisions it felt necessary to change any shortcomings in current policy. Instead of adopting the proposed measures, the commissioners changed their final conclusions because they were bought off by airline lobbyists (hey Linda), who later contributed large amounts of cash to the DNC. Nice try, though.

It's so easy to criticize if you ignore the facts. The size of the baggage allowed aboard on 9/11 was meaningless.

Box cutters did not have to "found" before 9/11. They were allowed, as where small knives, Leatherman tools, small straight razors, etc.

In one flight to Reykjavik, a passengers was allowed to board with an ice ax in his bag. He was going glacier climbing in Iceland, so he needed his ice ax / ice hammer... of course....

In the Bush-hateing club, you get extra points if you can also demonstrate that you are a Reagan hater too!

Like I said yesterday, if those upstarts in the 1700's didn't get a bee in their bonnet over this whole freedom and democracy thingy, we would have never had 9-11-01 happen.

The Founders of our Country, that's whose fault it is?

Anyone care to go further back?
