9/11 Was Reagan's Fault (Barf Alert!)

9/11 silver bullet

There is a "silver bullet" for 9/11.

President Reagan signed an executive order in 1981 that required "cost-benefit justification for new federal regulations." Presidents Bush, Clinton and Bush endorsed this policy.

Result: America's airports got "lowest cost security," and 19 murderers got through security with box cutters, an item banned by FAA in 1994 from secure areas.

Billie Vincent was top security executive at the Federal Aviation Administration in 1991. He wanted FAA to limit carryon luggage to one small bag. He said, "We can make the haystack smaller or the needle larger."

If FAA had followed Billie Vincent's advice in 1991, even poorly trained security people would have found those box cutters. The (New York) towers would still stand, and 3,000 would not have been murdered if passenger convenience had not trumped passenger security and safety at America's airports.

Good God, now 9/11 is Reagan's fault?

As long as we're at it, why don't we keep digging? A pretty compelling case can be made that it's actually Jimmy Carter's fault. After all, it was his July 3, 1979 directive* that authorized covert aid to the Islamic Militant Network fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan, and his National Security Adviser who said, "What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?**"

Sheesh. Next thing you know, they'll be blaming 9/11 on Nixon.

I trust the judgement of the majority of eleigible voters who show up at the polls this November to figure out first the blame part, then that aside which party is more likely to keep us safe in the coming years.

Current poll tracking is showing that those undecideds who are currently paying attention are starting to move away from Kerry.

Exactly. If we'd just left the Ottoman Empire in place, none of this would have happened.

Actually Mr. O'Mara, Jimmy Carter is to blame for 9/11 because he turned his head in Iran and allowed Muslim extremists to take over the country and spread their poison across the world.

Because other liberal retards will believe it, and pretty soon you'll have Senator Mark Dayton demanding the creation of a commission to find out what Reagan knew and when he knew it.

Carter also cut off aid to the Ayahtolla's in Iran causing the overthrow of the Shah who was friendly to the US.

even poorly trained security people would have found those box cutters.

And even the best trained security people would have allowed them on the plane with them because IT WAS LEGAL TO TAKEN THEM ON THE PLANE!

NOT TRUE! Blades of 4 inches or less were perfectly legal to carry onto a plane.

Nope. It was LEGAL to have a box cutter. Just as it was legal for me to carry on my Leatherman tool, or some scissors, etc etc. By the way I wonder if this moron knows Al Gore ( the Smartest Man in the World) had proposed more stingent security measures, only to REMOVE them from the final document after a very HEFTY DONATION to the DNC from the airlines, lead by a lobbyist who's last name was DASCHLE. DEAL WITH IT.
