Socialist-Connected Intelligence Agents Negotiated with Al Sadr to Cease Attacks on Spanish Troops

CNI [Spanish Intelligence Service] Agents Close to the PSOE [Socialist Party] Negotiated in Iraq for Shiites Not to Attack Spanish Troops

Agents made a secret trip to Najaf a week ago to reach an agreement with representatives of Moqtada al Sadr. Fifteen hours after Zapatero announced the return of the “Plus Ultra” Brigade, the religious leader ordered his militias not to fire on the Spaniards.

Agents of the National Intelligence Center (CNI) with ties to the PSOE [Socialist party] secretly travelled to Najaf a week ago to meet with representatives of Muqtada al Sadr. Their mission was to inform the radical Shiite leader that the new Socialist government planned to withdraw the troops and, consequently, to reach an agreement with the armed Shiite militias not to attack Spanish troops. Al Sadr urged that Zapatero make an announcement as soon as he took office, so that the US forces would be alone in the expected attack on the city to capture him “dead or alive.” Fifteen hours after the new president announced the withdrawal, Al Sadr ordered yesterday morning that Spanish troops not be fired upon.

…Agents close to Emilio Jambrina [a PSOE-linked CNI agent who had been posted to a unit in Latin America, but was in Spain on March 11] travelled to Najaf last week, with the knowledge of the Socialist Party, with the mission of telling representatives of the radical Shiite leader Muqtada al Sard that the new Spanish government had decided to withdraw its troops, fufilling its electoral promise.

With this understanding, they proposed the immunity of Spanish soldiers during the withdrawal. That is, they suggested that the “Mehdi Army” (Messiah’s Army), al Sadr’s armed militia, not attack the Plus Ultra Brigade. According to sources, the CNI agents declared that the announcement of the new president, Rodríguez Zapatero, would occur in due time, to which the representatives of the Shiite cleric responded that it had to be done immediately after he took office. The Shiite objective seems to be the rupture of the coalition, so that the American troops that will, presumably, enter Najaf in the next few days to get al Sadr “dead or alive” will find themselves alone. This would explain the rapidity with which Zapatero announced the decision to withdraw Spanish troops, in the middle of the afternoon on Sunday, barely seven hours after José Bono was sworn in as Defense Minister before the King, thereby being able to order the Chief of Staff, Admiral Moreno Barberá, to begin preparations for the withdrawal.

…CNI sources explain that the deal with Al Sadr’s radicals also included not kidnapping Spanish citizens.

the actions of the Spanish Socialists have raised the status of Al Sadr who is really a marginal figure

That is one of my concerns, too. They are treating him as a legitimate ruler.

I wonder what the Spanish population in general think. I know alot of commentators agree that this was an AQ coup, but that doesn't matter because the real upside to this is that now europe can push through it's socialist Godless constitution. Its a gift from AQ to europes socialists, and they are eager to capitalise.

Some weeks ago, right after the attack in Madrid, I was in a Latin country on business. At the hotel I engaged, as one does in these situations, some other travelers in conversation. One woman, an ex-pat from Boston, and a confessed Socialist, actually said out loud that "a beautiful thing" happened in Spain. She acknowledged the 200 plus innocent dead but was smug in her certainty that the price was worth the socialist victory at the polls....true story.

I can believe it very easily. The things that the Spanish Socialists themselves are saying are enough to gag a maggot.

BUMP. One of the latest AQJihadi missives, that talks about the summer of Jihadi Tourism, this year and calls for multiple attacks in the West to complement the situation in Iraq, shows that Spain's efforts with the Shias in Iraq make no difference to AQ as they state that Europe has rejected the "Prince's" (Osama's) proposal to the Euros for a truce.

I'm sure many in Spain have have been disgusted by the Govt's behavior. All they've done is encourage jihadis.

Oh my...if this is true there won't be any hope for preserving Spain I fear.

Al Sadr ordered yesterday morning that Spanish troops not be fired upon.

Hasn't this already happened? I thought I heard Spanish troops were attacked late yesterday or today.

Al Sadr ordered yesterday morning that Spanish troops not be fired upon.

Great News! We should now tell our troops to start wearing Spanish Uniforms. That will be an easy task, all we have to do is paint a yellow stripe appropriately.
