WABC's radio's Bachelor & John Loftis (sp) reporting Syria gave Iraq's chemical WMD to AlQaeda. Captured trucks in Jordan with chemicals with Vx attack would have killed 20,000.

MSNBC crawl this morning (During IMUS) dutifully reporting about Jordan's thwarting of a "primitive" chemical attack - cleverly icing any notion of a sophisticated weapon grade substance from Iraq's former arsenal... (spin developing...)

I'd like to remind everyone that our president is ahead and would win today with the "common knowledge" that Saddam has no WMD and was more truthful than Bush - ergo - if WMD are traced to Iraq between now and Nov 2 - the election would be such a blowout if would make McGovern snicker.

This is being sparsely reported by the lamestream media, but it is difficult to get an accurate picture here yet. From a BBC article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3635381.stm
An official involved in the inquiry in Jordan told AFP news agency: "We found primary materials to make a chemical bomb which, if it had exploded, would have made nearly 20,000 deaths ... in an area of one square kilometre.
I would read "primary materials" as meaning the two or three precursor chemicals which, when mixed together, create the weapon. As I understand it, that is one of the wonderful advantages of VX - your troops keep only the relatively less toxic compounds in hand, and mix them at the site of the attack. As such, you never FIND VX, unless you have had a chemical weapon attack (or accident).

cleverly icing any notion of a sophisticated weapon grade substance from Iraq's former arsenal... (spin developing...) The media doesn't have a clue. Common sense would tell you that if Libya had WMD, Iraq surely must have had it. I think it is going to turn up very soon.

This is all ABCCBSCNNNBC is reporting these days - blanket coverage. So glad our fourth estate is at the helm supporting this nation. /not

Surreal, isn't it? Not reporting the biggest story.

but can you imagine what the left and the US media would do if seemingly out of the blue, Bush said "we are going to war with Syria because the WMD is there". After this whole Iraq WMD thing, I do not think Bush has enough support to make that case. Right, they would just bury them in the sand or move them somewhere else and we would be where we are today with Iraq. Shell game. No, this requires covert not overt action.

I don't think they mean't stink bombs. The thought of realdeal WMD scares the H&!! out of the media because they will go down with the Dem ship if it ever happens...

let's see - 20,000 that is between six and seven times the number killed at the WTC. So expect the NYT and Boston Herald's headlines (above the fold) to read "Iraq's Neighbor, Jordan, Foils WMD attack Seven Times Bigger than 9/11!!! (detailed coverage in special section A - How Bush Got It Right and We Were Wrong About Everything!)

Why isn't this in the papers or on tv? The emphasis was on the king of Jordan snubbing Bush by cancelling an upcoming visit to the White House.
I heard the king o jordan is staying in Jordan because part of his entourage for D.C. was arrested in the mustard gas sweep and Jordan is on terror alert.
Funny how the local St. Petersburg Times makes this about snubbing Bush instead of about a terror threat/plot. www.sptimes.com

Blixy is trying to get Kerry elected though. But, Kerry is such a poor candidate that I can hardly wait for his next tv interview. He didn't help himself on Meet the Press last Sunday. And, his Maybelline was too orangey. Remember all the makeovers Al Gore had? Kerry's falling into the same trap because he has **** for brains and that's just plain scary.
Kerry said that terrorism was exagerrated. When is he going to be called on that statement?

I heard that the King O' Jordan is rightly concerned that he'll be targeted by AQ and that's why he really cancelled his trip to D.C.

If he were able to get safely out and back into Jordan, I suspect his time in the US would be far safer.
Surely, he is either concerned about the travel situation, or about the terrorist situation in Jordan. Perhaps they had wind that the timing of the terror attack was to coincide with his being in the US, and a coup was going to be attempted while he was absent. That would certainly restrain travel plans until the situation had been cleared up.

This story appears lifted from falsehoods News Max made up.
I looked into it last night. The headlines accurate, but the single line is the story is not. There were no WMDs, just component chemicals and a plot. These are not Iraqa WMDs.
I think that allowing this in Breaking News makes us look ridiculous.

It's coming. I imagine foreign policy is going to stay front and center for the duration of this election cycle. Cynical? No. But I do believe timelines were reviewed by interested persons in the process of developing a strategy for victory over there. IE the timing of the transfer of power, the timing of the showdown with Al Sadr, all on the USA timetable. At least so far.
