Exactly the press lives on handouts in the US today. They have for some time. It became official when they started taking Pravda press release as equal to US government press releases late in the Soviet era.

Hussein has to make a big deal about this. He needs to get on television and report this.

The liberal media will have no choice but to carry this.

It would have to be nuclear. Nerve agents can survive temps up to 2500 F and will be incinerated at 4000 F. Soviets always mixed nerve in HE artillery shells. Troops hit with these shells would be too busy trying to survive the blast and shrapnel to put on their CB masks. Nerve gas will survive explosive blasts because it requires temperatures up to 4000 F to incinerate gas. If nerve gas is stored in Syria in hidden bunkers, we cannot simply bomb them because it will release the gas into the wind. It is best dealt with nuclear explosions that will incinerate the gas. I heard rumors and reports saying Syria may have gave some small amounts to Al Qaida operatives. It this is proven, Syrians would be extinct.

Replace the sodium Pentathol with morphine for that really good feeling with the Versed IV.

Everytime the Islamodummy starts to come out of the the influence of Versed IV and the Morphine, crank up the "I love you," song by Barney with the New Kids on the Block in the background with Barbara S screaming in quad sound.

Then tell the Islamodummy that if he wants more Versed and Morphine to just shake his head yes.

After about 3 of these dry out periods, they will plead for more drugs and tell all that they know to avoid Barney singing to them.

I am more worried about the the 60th anniversary of D-Day ceremonies at Normandy on June 6th -- cause I am going to be there with my dad. Pres. Bush and many leaders of the Western world will also be there. Talk about a target rich environment!

Jordan Says It Thwarted Chemical Attack (Jordan)

"..AMMAN, Jordan (Reuters) - Jordanian security sources said Sunday they had thwarted a plot by militant Islamists to launch a deadly chemical attack that could have caused thousands of civilian casualties.

Two security sources told Reuters dawn raids earlier this month on the homes of suspected members of an underground group that planned terror attacks had uncovered quantities of raw chemicals prepared for a large-scale chemical attack. The unspecified number of suspects also had explosives probably obtained locally or from a neighboring country and some appeared to have explosives expertise, they added..."

AND all the while we are sitting around Fallujah and around Najaf getting shot at every hour.

Time is on the enemy's side. The next place they will want to bring VX gas to will be Baghdad.

Instead of taking care of Fallujah and Najaf last week we are still screwing around.
Will we still be involved in Vietnam style kinder gentler compassionate rules of enGAGment when the enemy detonates a similar WMD against are Marines and Soldiers. And what will we do afterward, declare a truce or ceasefire so we can evacuate the civilians?

How do we know it was to hit Jordan. Wouldn't Israel be better for Al Queda to hit. Seem they would have spared just a little to share with their Zionist enemies.

Just wondering - feedback pls.

I'm not sure that any explanation at all on the part of Syria is acceptable. If the materials came across their border, they are responsible. If Assad doesn't know about it because his Minister of Holy Slaughter or whatever did it without his knowledge, he is STILL responsible. If the gas came into the country from elsewhere, the Syrians are STILL RESPONSIBLE. If it was in the possession of al-Goatraper or whoever and not the Syrian government, THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT IS STILL RESPONSIBLE.

Assuming the allegations are true, I expect Bush to take this position and HOLD Syria responsible, and not pussyfoot around about it. Otherwise all of his posturing with respect to "nations which provide aid and comfort to terrorists", etc. etc. et. al. is just that - posturing. If the allegations are true, Syria had better *voluntarily* - just as Khadaffyduck has - submit to *unrestricted* inspections throughout their Islamic bughole.

And if they resist - or even protest - this is our excuse for the Marines to leave Iraq early.

(And I will *look forward* to hearing Moore howl like a castrated dog, and Streisand whine like a bad alternator... Music to my ears...)

Now let me see if I remember Bush's rationale for going to war, seems to me that it had to do with the Iraqis giving al queda members in Iraq (including identifying al-Zarqawi by name)WMD such as VX gas which was an Iraqi speciality to be used in terrrorist attacks against the United States and its allies.---

I do hope the White House points this out every 15 minutes till the election.

Probably because if they hit Israel, Syria would become a smoking hole.

If the story is true Assad must have known about it. There is no way in the country like Syria to do something like that without their internal security knowing it.

Using VX on Israel would lead to immediate nuclear retaliation. Sharon will not hesitate 1sec before giving an order to turn Damascus into a lake. Assad is not suicidal he knows exactly who he is dealing with in Israel.

From what the king said it sounded like alQaeda was trying to remove him from power by wiping out half of Jordan. If trucks were not to be used in jordan then what was the point of transpoting it there? If the bomb was going to europe it would be 100 times easier to just load it onto the ship in damascus then sail it to its destination.

VX being used in any city with even the most primitive distribution device is scary. Chem weapons have limited batlefield impact since troops are much easier to protect and contaminated areas cause problems for your own troops. Both problems dont exist for terrorists. It is truly a scary scenario.

Also why is it not possible that Syria itself created the gas?

I'm sorry, but unless I see this on FOX (yet alone ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, BBC, Sky News, Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Washington Post, etc.) I am skeptical about the claims.

They aren't reporting it........YET IT HAPPENED.....ok. The media has an agenda......and that agenda is not to report the successes in the WOT.

Look at the coverage of Iraq....hour after hour of body counts.

Here is an example......that battle on the border over the weekend....a force of 300 bad guys.....were creamed by the Marines........YET what was reported 5 Marines died. No mention of the bad guy dead.....or those captured.

=========== Documents linking Atta, Saddam, Nidal, bin Ladin ===========

Handwritten letter dated Feb. 19, 1998 linking bin Laden and Saddam Hussein
discussing arrival of a secret envoy sent by bin Laden to Iraq.
The signature beneath the letter is a codename, "MDA" - the Mukhabarat.

========= Chemical Warhead found in Kirkuk =============

Chemical warhead found at an Iraqi air base, marked with a green band,
the symbol for chemical weaponry
. Trace amounts of a nerve agent were found
at two spots along the ~meter-long warhead. These amounts are consistent with
leakage from the chemically armed weapon. A 13-foot missile was found next to it.

========= Halabja =========

Dead children, previously playing in Halabja
Victims of Saddams' WMD in March 1988.

=========== French missiles FIRST given to Iraq to be USED Against US and Coalition Heroes =========

French missiles found by the Poles, and to protect France, blown up.

Froggies said they did not say "2003". LOL. Decide for yourself.

Iraqi missiles given to, and now located in, Syria:

========= RUSSIAN MISSILES AND DIRTY BOMBS FOUND IN IRAQ =========

Russian-made R-60, NATO AA-8 Aphid, air-to-air missiles were found..
The Russian-made missiles are >6 feet long. Each carries 3.5 pounds of uranium.
wrapped around a high explosive warhead (13.2-pound) making a "dirty bomb".

Also found in Iraq:

* A clandestine network of laboratories and safehouses within the Iraqi Intelligence Service
that contained equipment subject to UN monitoring and suitable for continuing CBW research.

* A prison laboratory complex, possibly used in human testing of BW agents, that Iraqi officials
working to prepare for UN inspections were explicitly ordered not to declare to the UN.

* Reference strains of biological organisms concealed in a scientist's home,
one of which can be used to produce biological weapons.

* New research on BW-applicable agents, Brucella and Congo Crimean Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF),
and continuing work on ricin and aflatoxin were not declared to the UN.

* Documents and equipment, hidden in scientists' homes, that would have been useful in
resuming uranium enrichment by centrifuge and electromagnetic isotope separation (EMIS).

* A line of UAVs not fully declared at an undeclared production facility and an admission
that they had tested one of their declared UAVs out to a range of 500 km, 350 km beyond the permissible limit.

* Continuing covert capability to manufacture fuel propellant useful only for prohibited SCUD variant missiles,
a capability that was maintained at least until the end of 2001 and that cooperating Iraqi scientists
have said they were told to conceal from the UN.

* Plans and advanced design work for new long-range missiles with ranges up to at least 1000 km -
well beyond the 150 km range limit imposed by the UN. Missiles of a 1000 km range would have allowed
Iraq to threaten targets through out the Middle East, including Ankara, Cairo, and Abu Dhabi.

Clandestine attempts between late-1999 and 2002 to obtain from North Korea technology
related to 1,300 km range ballistic missiles --probably the No Dong -- 300 km range anti-ship cruise missiles,
and other prohibited military equipment.

Still missing based on the UNSCOM report to the UN Security Council in January 1999,
when the UN inspectors left Iraq in 1998, they had been unable to account for:

• up to 360 tons of bulk chemical warfare agents, including 1.5 tons of VX nerve agent;

• up to 3,000 tons of precursor chemicals, including approximately 300 tons which,
in the Iraqi chemical warfare program, were unique to the production of VX;

• growth media procured for biological agent production (enough to produce
over three times the 8,500 litres of anthrax spores Iraq admitted to UN inspectors to having manufactured);

• over 30,000 special munitions for delivery of chemical and biological agents;

• 20 al-Hussein missles with a range of 650 km, in violation
of UN Security Council Resolution 687 (Iraq had told UNSCOM that it filled these warheads with anthrax and botulinum);

• 2,850 tons of mustard gas, 210 tons of tabun, and 795 tons of sarin and cyclosarin;

• development of the Al-Samoud short-range missle (which had the capability to fly beyond the 150 km allowed by UN resolutions)
