Seems the hot topic out of the Woodward book is the allegation that the Saudis promise to slash oil prices before the election to help GW Bush.

Can someone email Sean and remind him that slick willie released oil to the north east from the strategic oil reserve to enhance hilery's senate run.

Powell denies being semi-despondent when the President made the decision to go into Iraq...says he supported the decision. Powell denies being "in the dog house" at the White House. Powell denies Saudi Prince Bandar was briefed on Iraq war plan before he was. Powell states many of the conversations reported in Woodward's book were from interviews given during Woodward's last book.

Powell: UN did not act, so GWBush did. And Powell was supportive of the President.
Had a couple of phone calls with Woodward, and that was about the only contact. Much of the content apparently comes from materials for an earlier book.
Powell, 'I participated in the development of the plan' even before Prince Bandar (sp) was given details of the plan.

Prince Bandar NOT briefed before Powell - from the Powell himself!
To: Bush_Democrat
Powell denies that he said Dick Cheney had a "fever" to go to war in Iraq, and that he (Powell) can no longer communicate with Dick Cheney.

Rich Armitage is Powell's alter ego and probably is the source of Woodward's info.
