Jamie Gorelick must be compelled to resign and testify
Richard Tavor

Posted on 04/15/2004 8:47:44 AM PDT by richardtavor

I have sent the following message to the 9/11 Commission and urge as many of you that feel the same to respond also:

The Commission email address: info@9-11Commission.gov

From a concerned citizen:

Jamie Gorelick must resign from the 9/11 Commission and submit to testifying under oath about her role in the unpreparedness of the US for the 9/11 attack. As the Warren Commission absolutely had to be above reproach, so must this commission be. Any judgement and recommendations that are made by the Commission will be forever tainted if Gorelick remains and renders her own judgement, because of her obvious conflict of interest. The security of this country far outweighs the popularity of this commissioner, therefore I strongly urge that she be removed and compelled to testify. I have sent a similar message to members of the Congress.

The Utterly Absolutely Disgraced 911 Commission [by their own choice]

"Do you really think you are gonna get to ask me why I dared refuse repeat DOJ requests for investigations of dangerous illegal aliens.
Do you really think you are gonna get to ask me why I arranged to stovepipe intelligence to make intraagency effective communication useless.
Do you really think you are gonna get to ask me why illegal aliens who were felons became voters for our Democratic party.
Do you really think you are gonna get to ask me why I OK'd the use of stolen FBI files on DNC computers.
Not a chance. Following LBJ, your gonads are in my fist and your FBI files are in my computer.
Now go away.
"

"Some wonder whether [Clinton] was distracted by the legal and
political quagmire of the Monica Lewinsky case.
And even former Clinton aides now regret that the
battle with bin Laden and his Al-Qaida organization was never fully joined.
'Clearly, not enough was done,' said Jamie Gorelick,
a former deputy attorney general in the Clinton administration.
'We should have caught this. Why this happened, I don't know.
Responsibilities were given out. Resources were given. Authorities existed.
We should have prevented this.
'

BREAKING: Gorelick (put on the Committee by Daschle)

1996: Clinton Considered Jamie Gorelick for CIA Director
The Washington Post Archives | December 3, 1996 | John F. Harris

Posted on 04/15/2004 8:08:23 AM PDT by nwrep

WOMEN'S GROUPS SEEK ENTRY TO PRESIDENT'S INNER CIRCLE; GORELICK CONSIDERED FOR CIA

December 3, 1996

President Clinton faces a choice as he returns this week to the business of staffing his administration for a second term: He will either make history by appointing a woman to one of the top spots on his national security team, or risk sorely disappointing many of the very voters who provided his margin of victory in last month's election.

This ambivalence is playing itself out in the drama over whether Clinton will name U.N. Ambassador Madeleine K. Albright to be the first female secretary of state. While declining to make Albright's appointment a litmus test for Clinton, top women's advocates said they would regard it as a setback if Clinton does not name a woman to one of several vacancies in top national security jobs that historically have been the province of white men.

"It would be a real blow, and it would be fairly blatant," given how Clinton ran as an advocate for women, said Patricia Ireland, president of the National Organization for Women. "Foreign policy is a place where women really do need to make some breakthroughs."

Besides Albright, the woman cited most frequently by administration officials as likely for a top national security job is Deputy Attorney General Jamie S. Gorelick, who is being considered for CIA director.

Who first politicized 9-11?  Was it Bush who stood in the well of the Senate to demand answers to whether he had "known" about 9-11 "in advance"?  No.  It was Hillary Clinton.  Was it Bush who floated "an interesting theory" on National Public Radio that he had known in advance about the plans for the 9-11 attack?  No.  It was Howard Dean.  Was it Bush who claimed he had hatched the plan to invade Iraq in order to provide profits to his financial backers?  No.  It was Teddy Kennedy.  Was it Condoleeza Rice who falsely and deceitfully tried to convince a listening nation that an August 6, 2001, Presidential Daily Briefing (PDB) contained "warnings," which, if heeded, "could have prevented" 9-11?  No.  It was Richard Ben-Veniste and Jamie GoreLick, the most transparently partisan members of the 9-11 Commission.

The political posturing by GoreLick and Ben-Veniste now seem even more surreal in light of John Aschroft's revelation today of a 1995 memo authored by then Deputy Attorney General, Jamie GoreLick, seeking to strengthen the legal barriers in the sharing of intelligence information between the FBI and the CIA.  Will the dominant media focus a fraction of the attention on this pompous windbag's contribution to the problem rather than the solution as it focused on Ben-Veniste's and GoreLick's deceitful and spurious claims that the August 6, 2001 PDB contained "warnings" recklessly ignored by the Bush Administration?  Of course not unless and until the non-dominant media drags the dominant media kicking and screaming to do so.

Will 60 Minutes feature a breathtaking "expose" on the hypocrisy of Jamie GoreLick's partisan pontificating about specks in the eyes of others while carrying a beam in her own eye?  Will NPR agonize over the intrinsically deceitful and nakedly partisan nature of her conduct as a member of the 9-11 Commission?  Will Howard Stern discuss her "naked" partisanship?  That would be a discussion about "nakedness" that might actually contribute to national enlightenment.  Will anyone in the dominant media ask whether her even being on the Commission is not a patent conflict of interest?  Will anyone in the media challenge the judgment and sincerity of whoever were the Democratic officials demanding or recommending her being named to the 9-11 Commission?

Dream Wall

Foreword by Osama bin Laden.
Afterword by Thomas Daschle.
Finalword by Hillary Clinton.

Critics are raving about the author's ability to maintain a truly palpable air of smiling lightheartedness, even after thousands of her fellow countrymen are killed.

Mystery lovers will be thrilled to learn if the main character will clean the wall to try to erase her fingerprints and those of her friends.

Video Ad Slams Gorelick (Check out how much $ she gave to Kerry and Dems)

9-11 Commissioner and Janet Reno’s former Girl Friday, Jamie Gorelick is the center of a swirling controversy that threatens to discredit the entire proceeding of the 9-11 Commission.

In the latest development, Crushkerry.com has produced a new video, which itemizes the charges against Gorelick and openly questions her suitability to serve on the commission. Crushkerry.com also asks viewer to sign a petition to force Gorelick to testify before her own commission.

Earlier in the week, Crushkerry.com issued an open letter to the 9-11 Commission asking them to call four more vital witnesses before they adjourn.

At issue a number of troubling charges of conflict of interest and some obvious partisan behavior on the part of Janet Reno’s ex-cohort.

Specifically, Gorelick’s law firm Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering represents 9-11 defendant Prince Mohammed al Faisal in the suit by the victims’ families. This obviously provides an important motive for Gorelick’s efforts to blame George W. Bush personally for that tragic day, rather than the terrorists and their financiers.

Moreover, as the proceedings have demonstrated, Gorelick is simply too partisan to remain objective. Many believe she is the source of steady leaks to the press. And in a new development, Cushkerry.com has learned Gorelick has given over $60,000 to Democrat candidates and causes in recent years, including $2,000 to Kerry for President, the maximum allowed under the law.

As Attorney General John Ashcroft revealed in his dramatic testimony before the commission, Gorelick was in fact the author of some of the policies that made it easier for terrorists to plot and kill Americans.

Yesterday, Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) called on Gorelick to step down from the commission, citing some of the same reasons Crushkerry.com does in their video.

Here is my contribution to the FReep:

Chairman Keen,

Commissioner Gorelick should resign her seat on the commission and take a seat at the witness table. You as Chairman of this important commission have a duty to ensure that the work you've done and the millions of dollars you've spent isn't wasted. Any report which you produce in conjunction with Commissioner Gorelick will be deamed tainted by atleast half this country.

Your own credibility is on the line.

Ohhhh, bad questions, tsk tsk--you realize, don't you, that the very answers to those questions would indicate you're attacking these people! Scuse my sarcasm, but I can almost hear the whining coming from the liberals, to think that anyone would dare to "question" their motives. (Question heck--I'm accusing!)
